Transforming Waste into Opportunity! Bring us in touch! 💭 Got an unused scooter or e-bike at home? Great overview on one of the major issues with Micromobility globally by our CEO, Evrim Taskiran 💪 🚨 We need to address this growing concern for Micromobility before it leads to further damage of a circular future!
Why Has Micromobility Failed? 🚴 PS: I am starting a series of LinkedIn posts, where I’ll be sharing insights from the micromobility sector, focusing on how essential the role of circularity and sustainability is in shaping the future of urban transportation. The rise of micromobility was hailed as an eco-friendly revolution for urban transport, attracting billions in VC investments globally. E-scooters, bikes, and shared mobility options exploded in cities, promising cleaner, greener transportation alternatives ♻️ But with all this growth, have we missed the bigger picture? Many players in the space prioritized rapid expansion and growth over creating sustainable, profitable business models. The result? 🔴 Struggling operators and device producers, with many facing imminent bankruptcy due to unsustainable business models and lack of profitability. 🔴 Excessive production and inflated inventories are driving prices down, flooding the market with oversupply, and damaging the entire industry financially 🔴 And a growing mountain of electronic waste as devices are quickly replaced or abandoned What was supposed to be an environmentally conscious movement has, in many cases, become the opposite — leading to a wave of short-lived vehicles that end up in landfills, far from the green solution we envisioned Is micromobility truly delivering on its promise, or have we traded one problem for another? It's time to rethink this industry beyond the hype and focus on real sustainability and business longevity. What are your thoughts? Is micromobility still the solution or part of a new problem?

🚨 This week, we NEED your support 🚨 to win an award on a topic closest to my heart: Belgian Impact Startup Awards! ✨ 🗳️ VOTE HERE → https://lnkd.in/eRaV67qR Theme: Circularity & Mobility Deadline: 08/10/2024 💡 Why should you vote for our startup, Cyclecure? 💡 Because we are tackling a critical global issue: the growing mountain of electronic waste in the light e-mobility sector. 🚲⚡ Did you know that in 2024, there are over 300 million metric tons of unrecycled e-waste on Earth, with only 17.4% properly recycled? 🌍♻️ Here are some tangible figures showcasing our twofold impact over the last 3 years: 🔄 Environmental/Circularity: ✅ Repaired over 15,000 devices (e-bikes/e-scooters) ✅ Refurbished & gave a second life to over 6,000 devices ✅ Refurbished ~800 batteries, recycled another ~1200! ✅ Recycled over 14 tons of electronic & metal components ⚙️ 👷♂️ Social: ✅ Trained and employed 10+ mechanics, the majority of whom faced barriers to the job market, 60% from minority backgrounds, in partnership with VDAB & Actiris🤝🌍 🔧 Two of our most impactful recent projects: 1️⃣ Refurbishment of a bankrupt e-scooter operator's entire fleet (2000+ devices) and bringing them back to the second-hand market 2️⃣ Collection & refurbishment of abandoned bikes at a major Belgian train station, saving 15% of 1000 bikes per quarter from recycling! 🚴♀️🔄 🙏 A huge thank you to our supporters and the organizers for creating this opportunity! Let's make a positive impact together 💪🌱 Thanks for your vote and support! 🚀

Cyclecure Bike Market Brussels: Our latest social and circular project 🚲♻️ We're organizing our first-ever open Bike Market this Saturday, and along with the wide range of bikes available for purchase, here are some reasons why this project could be of particular interest: ➡️ The primary objective is to save abandoned bikes from being recycled and find a new home for them! 🚲 ➡️ At the same time, we also want to promote cycling by offering affordable bikes for everyone💪 ➡️ We plan to organize such a bike market every few months to save as many bikes as possible, and to make sure more people are inclined towards cycling🚴 P.S. We collected the bikes in an abandoned condition from a train station and revived them back to being functional. There are many bike brands and models available, including some vintage ones as well. All of the bikes are non-electric. Interested? Join us this Saturday! 📌 Rue des Tanneurs 58, 1000 Brussels 🗓️ 29th June, 12:00 - 15:00 Join the Facebook event: https://lnkd.in/e7FXV5_V hub.brussels circlemade.brussels Trividend finance&invest.brussels Kruitbosch asbl CyCLO vzw #Cyclecure #BikeMarket #SustainableMobility #CircularMobility #Bikes #BikeFair
