At the Atlantic Corridor Forum meeting in November 2024, José Luis Sanz Merino stressed that ‘a meshed structure of the corridor would provide capillarity and could offer alternative routes to rail lines that are congested in the future’. Thus, in the presence of the commissioner of the Atlantic Corridor, the Junta de Castilla y León has reminded the European institutions of the need to bring forward the deadlines for the recovery of the Silver Route within the extended network. To better understand the needs, vision, and daily work of the Junta de Castilla y León, we hold a series of regular meetings back with our regional ministries and General Directorates. The Tasting event, titled “𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝒚 𝑳𝒆ó𝒏: 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒐 𝑮𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏ó𝒎𝒊𝒄𝒐” welcomed a full house of european and international attendees to discover the region’s exceptional culinary treasures. 💡 Participants from across all European regions had the opportunity to experience the high-quality flavours that define Castilla y León, a region internationally recognized for its distinguished culinary heritage. ✨ This year's Castilla Y León Gastronomic contribution focused on dishes and recipes prepared with products that have earned official recognition through PGI, Designation of Origin, or Protected Designation of Origin certifications. Among the featured products, the Torrezno de Soria took center stage, as it awaits official PGI status from the European Commission. 👨🍳 In addition to this iconic product, attendees were also treated to a range of exceptional offerings, including Iberian cured meats, legumes, and tapas crafted with regional ingredients. The tasting was curated by renowned Chef Carlos Hernández del Río, whose creations had a resounding success within the event. 🍇 Attendees were also able to taste some wines belonging to the 17 Designations of Origin, thanks to the collaboration with the nine Wine Routes of Castilla y León.
