Proud of Tina Mavrič 👏
The "Adult Learning in VET: The Role of Centres of Vocational Excellence event", hosted by the European Training Foundation in Turin provided me with the opportunity to showcase the work and advocacy efforts of the European Association for the Education of Adults - EAEA, done in the non-formal education sector. The focus of my contribution was on outreach, collaboration, and the discussion of methods and tools designed to enhance knowledge for both learners and educators, especially on the part of upskilling and reskilling. Together with Sylvia Liuti, we were able to present the work done in our Partner UP and Move UP projects and spread the word about the main achievements of these last two years. The main challenges discussed by the ETF members closely resembled those already faced by our own members, making it easier to exchange strategies for addressing them effectively. We will continue our collaboration through the ETFs' New Learning Club on engaging and inclusive teaching methods for upskilling and reskilling of adults, with the next session happening on the 11th of December. Thank you European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB) for inviting me to this interesting event! #PartnerUP #MoveUP ©️ ETF

EAEA is proud to have (co)organised three events during this year's edition of the Lifelong Learning Platform - European Civil Society for Education's Lifelong Learning Week from November 18 - 22! 📆 Are three workshops focused on: 1️⃣Enhancing Learners’ voices: Learning to Listen The workshop was facilitated by our Projects and Policy Coordinator Angeliki Giannakopoulou (she/her) and Alexandra Matthys from SOLIDAR & SOLIDAR Foundation. During the two-hour workshops participants discussed the challenges, reasons and actions to be taken for the inclusion of the adult learners’ voices in decision-making and participatory learning, as part of the #ENHANCE (Enhancing Adult Learners Voices) EU funded project. 2️⃣The role of educators in quality assurance The workshop was run by Deputy Secretary General Raffaela Kihrer and heard from our board member Anna Skocz, discussing how NGOs and adult educators can be more involved in decisions about quality AE provisions. The workshops developed the work of the EU-funded RALExILA project. 3️⃣Design Thinking for Inclusive Education: Connecting Families and Educators Beybin Elvin Tunc, Senior Education Program Coordinator, COFACE Families Europe, and Greta Pelucco, Policy and Research Coordinator at the EAEA, led participants through a family-based case, which revealed how the skills and experiences of family members could be better served through more inclusive policies in education. 🔗Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/e5ypU8dx (Photo descriptions: Photos from the workshops where participants gather around tables to discuss the topics, with presentations in the backgrounds)

💪On November 25, we come together to address this issue as #ViolenceAgainstWomen remains alarmingly widespread. This international day provides a valuable opportunity to organize activities, raise #awareness, and promote action to tackle #GenderBasedViolence and advance #GenderEquality. ⬇️According to the latest European Institute for Gender Equality report, 1 in 3 women in the EU have experienced physical violence, sexual violence, or threats in their adulthood and 1 in 3 women have been sexually harassed at work. Younger women report a higher prevalence, with 2 in 5 having experienced sexual harassment in their workplaces. 🔗 EAEA aligns with EfVET and EARLALL - European Association of Regional & Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning in the Gender Equality Task Force initiative, which purpose is to advocate for an equal access to #LifeLongLearning opportunities for all, by proposing an array of initiatives such as #Workshops, #Seminars, #Meetings, #Networking that allow its more than 50 members and key stakeholders to debate, reflect and share experiences and practices on topics related to #GenderEquality issues. 💡You can find more about the Gender Equality Tasks Force (GE TF) here! https://lnkd.in/eWWGJuuH How to become a GE TF member: Contact gendertforce@gmail.com

EAEA's President Uwe Gartenschlaeger has a strong message to practitioners in adult learning and education: you’re essential. In an interview with EAEA's partner ELM Magazine, Gartenschlaeger talks about the role of adult educators in a world facing a lot of challenges. The main concern in the next decades is that adult education is still not recognised by many decision-makers as a full-fledged, integral part of the educational system. Advocacy is essential in securing funding for the sector. “We have to fight for it,” says Gartenschlaeger. Watch part of the interview (below) and read the article on ELM! https://lnkd.in/dieGaKsk
