Inspiring ways of living. That is what we do every day. We inspire people around the world to build living spaces that are safe, sustainable, smart and beautiful. Some of our teammates even take it a step further and donate their time to support charities in local communities. In Pretoria, South Africa, for example, we helped to upgrade a local daycare centre. Thanks to our donation the centre now offers 4000 children a safer, more comfortable environment to learn and grow. We are proud of our teammates who go above and beyond to make our world a better place. A big thank you to everyone involved! 🙏 #InspiringWaysOfLiving #UnitedToInspire

Decarbonisation is one of the top priorities of our Road to Sustainability 2030, our plan to help build a better, sustainable future. To address our carbon footprint associated with fibre cement production, we plan to reduce the CO2 impact of this kind of cement utilised in our European fibre cement factories by more than 30%. We are excited to have launched our initiative this year in our plants in The Netherlands and France and plan to hit our 30% target by 2030. Taking another step closer to a more sustainable future. #RoadToSustainability2030 #Decarbonisation #UnitedToInspire #InspiringWaysOfLiving

We continuously improve our environmental performance, and one of our priorities is waste management. By minimising waste, reusing and recycling material and disposing of waste responsibly, we contribute to a sustainable world. We are well on track, as our latest waste management milestones illustrate: ♻️ At the end of 2023, we stood out as the top performer in Europe with: • >11% recycled gypsum • >75% recycled glass • >47% recycled polystyrene 📦 We reduced plastic packaging in several countries, such as the United Arab Emirates and Belgium. 🔙 We offer a new take-back service in Italy, Spain and Germany, in addition to the service already provided in France, and the UK for plasterboard. Our Insulation division launched a take-back service pilot. 🗑️ Also last year, 18 production sites sent zero waste to landfill. With these achievements, we want to put the European Week for Waste Reduction in the spotlights. Do you want to learn more about our circularity efforts? Check out our sustainability page. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e8jAD_UG Together, let’s find new ways to ban waste throughout the year. #EuropeanWeekForWasteReduction #Circularity #UnitedTolnspire #InspiringWaysOfLiving

This month, our company Siniat France, won the Sustainable Factory Award of the Year at the 2024 Industry Awards in France for pioneering urban treated water recycling at our Saint Loubès site. Since July 2024, this water has been used in our plasterboards to minimise drinking water usage. Ultimately, the plant will use 75% recycled water in its industrial processes! This award means the world to us, as Water is one of the priority areas of our Road to Sustainability 2030. It impacts one of our goals, which is to reduce our water withdrawal intensity by 20% by 2030 across Etex. We want to thank all teammates involved, as the Saint Loubès project brings us one step closer to our water withdrawal goal. Kudos to our team in France!🇫🇷 #RoadToSustainability2030 #Water

Every day, our teammates apply science to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the construction industry. In 2023, for example, we realised groundbreaking innovative initiatives, including: 🔬 In-house mixer technology was developed and implemented across several plasterboard plants in France, Poland, Spain, and Germany, contributing to energy and water savings. More plants will follow in 2024. 🌱 59% of our R&D resources were dedicated to sustainability, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions and raw material consumption. 🌍 Our newly launched plan aims to reduce the CO2 impact of cement in our European fibre cement factories by 30% by 2030, starting with plants in the Netherlands and France in 2024. We are proud of these innovations, which pave the way to a sustainable future. Today, on World Science Day for Peace and Development, we celebrate science and the ways it changes the world. #WorldScienceDayForPeaceAndDevelopment #UnitedToInspire #InspiringWaysOfLiving
