Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) cost the EU a staggering €210 billion per year 💶 due to healthcare expenses, productivity loss, and informal caregiving. 🏥 50% of these costs are healthcare-related, while 26% result from lost productivity! 🔍 While the full economic impact of Structural Heart Disease (SHD) is still emerging, studies show that early treatment leads to cost savings. This initiative aims to address critical gender gaps in structural heart disease (SHD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD), and we need your expertise! 🔍 Key Focus Areas of the Task Force: 👵 👴 Gather and analyse data to showcase gender differences in structural heart disease (SHD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD). 📜 Create a detailed position paper addressing the importance of this issue. ✍ Develop a clear plan to put these policy recommendations into action. 📅 We are pleased to extend a Call for Interest till November 30th. 📰 Press Release: Italy Advances National Cardiovascular & Cerebrovascular Disease Plan 🇮🇹❤️ On 23 October , the Italian Social Affairs Committee took a critical step forward by approving resolutions for the National Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases Plan. Spearheaded by Hon. Malavasi, Hon. Girelli, and Hon. Ciancitto, this initiative will enhance prevention efforts, prioritizing cardiovascular risk screening programs for the elderly population. 💪👵👴 These resolutions—proposals first introduced at the SHD Coalition's event in September—focus on early detection and prevention to mitigate severe health risks associated with cardiovascular disease in ageing populations. Lawmakers, including Hon. Girelli, Hon.
