#Sentinel1C, the third satellite in the Sentinel-1 mission, is launching soon!     Did you know that #Sentinel1 observations play a key role in ensuring safe navigation in the Arctic ❓      #CopernicusMarine data integrates radar information from the Sentinel-1 mission to map the position and model the movement of icebergs.    This capability is key to supporting maritime safety by providing essential information to navigators operating in these challenging and often unpredictable waters ❄️🛳️     The launch of Sentinel-1C will ensure the continuity and further improvement of this data stream, helping to keep the #Arctic and other sensitive regions safe with more comprehensive monitoring.     🔽 #DataViz showing estimated iceberg positions on 13 November

🚀 Shaping a Sustainable Future for Space 🚀 Last week, members of the Technical Secretariat (TS) and the TS Chair/Co-Chairs came together for the first in-person workshop to kick off the scoping for the PEFCR4Space in the development of the Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) for the space sector. 🌍 This collaborative meeting marks a significant milestone in defining the scope of the future PEF Category Rules for the space sector, a vital step towards creating a more sustainable framework for space activities across Europe. 🌱 What’s Next? In the months to come, the TS will refine a detailed definition of the scope of the PEFCR, with contributions from key stakeholders in the space sector.
