About us

Welcome to EUnited the voice of machinery and equipment suppliers in Europe. We speak for the companies which make up the core of Europe’s advanced manufacturing capability. Our members design and develop specialist technology, systems and products which are used in our factories and our communities all over the world. We are Europe’s only direct company membership association and our sectors include Cleaning, Municipal Equipment, Robotics and Vehicle Cleaning. EUnited connects machinery and equipment companies in one association to improve awareness and understanding among decision-makers and policy actors in the European Union institutions. Equipment suppliers are the mainstay of advanced manufacturing, increasingly recognized as indispensable for basic needs from basic nutrition and other human needs such as employment. The supervision and regulation of manufacturing has always been a major political challenge. Today policy makers are contending with technological complex global supply chains and a hardening competitive context. The European Union has an important role in developing and optimizing the international regulatory and policy framework for manufacturing. The EU is increasingly called to arbitrate on environmental protection issues and propose proper regulation and practices. Informed decisions are crucial: manufacturing can be seen as a source of pollution, the cause of inequality or the principal menace to earth’s sustainability, but the same manufacturing industry is biggest employer, and produces pollution abatement as well as waste to energy solutions.

  • The CEN/TC183 plenary meeting chaired Frank Diedrich (EUnited) took place at Standard Norge in Oslo, Norway on 21 November 2024 in conjunction with a strategy workshop the day before.     In this workshop, the participants defined the future standardisation trends for waste management in the areas of technology and services - safety and performance, digital transformation, automation and cyber security and environmental protection and sustainability. In this context, they also discussed how synergies between CEN/TC183 and ISO/TC297 can be used efficiently from a European perspective. The participants noted that cooperation with other TCs is becoming increasingly important, as many topics need to be standardised across TCs.     After the workshop, the participants visited one of the many local recycling stations in Oslo, where residents can drop off their recycling material quickly and easily. The symbols, which are already used in numerous Scandinavian municipalities, simplify the pre-sorting process there. This visit provided valuable insights into how innovative practices in waste management can inspire and inform future standardisation efforts. EUnited aisbl is proud to contribute to these important discussions and driving progress towards more sustainable and efficient waste management solutions across Europe. #EUnited #Wastemanagement #Safety #Sustainability #Recycling

  • EUnited aisbl Cleaning attended the Cleantex Exhibition 2024, held from 16-18 October.   Representing EUnited Cleaning, our Managing Director Peter Hug and Technical Director Frederik King gathered experience on the only African exhibition dedicated solely for cleaning machines as part of an internal research project on the African market. They connected with industry leaders, shared valuable insights, and discussed the African market for cleaning machines.   The event was also an excellent opportunity for us to intensify our exchange with the South African cleaning service provider Cleaning Association of South Africa and National Contract Cleaners Association (NCCA).   EUnited aisbl #Cleantex2024 #Exhibitions #Cleaning #CASA #NCCA
