Congratulations to the 2024-2029 European Commission team! We're encouraged to see Ursula von der Leyen commit to a #CompetitivenessCompass, an idea we pitched back in October 2022 (https://lnkd.in/eBHngi3n). This vision should build on our top recommendations for the new EU term, empowering businesses to grow, innovate, and thrive. The #Chambers4EU network is ready to hit the ground running, driving policies that build a stronger, more competitive Europe➡https://lnkd.in/eDku9_cU

Last week, Eurochambres proudly joined the conversation on women’s #entrepreneurship at the European Parliament! With inspiring opening remarks from Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, the event spotlighted the crucial role of #womenentrepreneurs in boosting Europe’s #competitiveness. Our Eurochambres Women’s Network Coordinator, Giulia Rocchi brought the chamber perspective to the panel “Rebooting Europe: The Role of Women Entrepreneurs Amid Economic Uncertainty.” She underlined the challenges that women entrepreneurs face and highlighted how the right policies and incentives can unlock the full potential of women-led businesses to drive #growth and #innovation. Eurochambres is deeply committed to fostering an ecosystem in which women entrepreneurs thrive. Together, we can build a more competitive, inclusive, and resilient #Europe!
Last week we celebrated Women’s Entrepreneurship Day with inspiring discussions on empowering women in business across Europe. From addressing systemic barriers like funding gaps and work-life balance to showcasing innovative solutions, our speakers shared powerful insights. The event was hosted by Jörgen Warborn, President of SME Europe and joined by Roberta Metsola as well as the exceptional lineup of female leaders Zuzana Púčiková, Giulia Rocchi Eurochambres, Valeryia Despaihne-Chernyak EuroCommerce, Natasha Jamal Mastercard Strive, Eleonora Meleti MEP, Christina Teusl and Denise Vorraber FEMINDS, Olga Diakova Impact Force, Jennie Sinclair Ownershift - power shift through ownership, Georgia Mourad Brooks The Nine and Florence Raes UN Women. Key takeaways: 🔹 Women are driving resilience and innovation, even in the most challenging circumstances, as seen in Ukraine. 🔹 There’s a growing push for policies supporting childcare, equitable funding, and tailored financial and social welfare systems for female entrepreneurs. The system should adapt to women’s needs, rather than forcing women to conform to rigid existing structures 🔹 Collaboration between public, private, and nonprofit sectors is essential to create lasting change. Recognizing the importance of the topic, we are committed to driving follow-up initiatives to track progress and advance impactful policies that drive meaningful change for female entrepreneurship throughout the EU. During the #SMEAssembly2024 in Budapest, Līga Sičeva, Eurochambres Project Officer, shared insights on the #ConsumerLawReady project, which helps SMEs across 24+ EU countries master consumer law standards: "Clients drive SME growth. While #consumerlaw might not seem top of mind, client feedback shapes #businesses. Knowing and meeting consumer law standards is key to success." #CLR Learn more about how we empower #SMEs to thrive: www.consumerlawready.eu SMEunited BEUC - The European Consumer Organisation European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) European Commission

📖 Do you know, that 1st consumer complaint was on 1750 BCE? The tablet, measuring 11.6 cm high and 5 cm wide, documents a transaction in which Ea-nāṣir, a trader, allegedly sold sub-standard copper to a customer named Nanni. Nanni, dissatisfied with the quality, wrote a cuneiform complaint addressing the poor service and mistreatment of his servant. (Source: Wikipedia, photo attached). The project Consumer Law Ready was promoted during the SME Assembly 2024 through a Meet the Expert session and an expo booth. After conversations with SMEs who asked – “What is Consumer law?” the main summary is that this project is important for several reasons: 1️⃣ To raise awareness about the Consumer law, which actually is really important for EVERY company, because everybody has their clients. The Client is highly important for every single SME to achieve its development goals. 2️⃣ To support SMEs in at least 24 countries, where SMEs can receive training from the National Lead trainers or Local trainers about Consumer law. 3️⃣ Keep this topic actual because feedback from the client side impacts SMEs' businesses a lot, and knowledge about Consumer law is necessary. The project team during SME Assembly: Sven Röhr, Sophia Zakari. Special Thanks go to Dr. Zsolt Hajnal, the project National Lead trainer in Hungary the expert for the Meet the Expert session! At Eurochambres, we are deeply committed to the future of Europe’s economy and the success of #SMEs across the continent. That’s why we conduct the Eurochambres Economic Survey #EES2025— to gather real insights from #businesses and understand their challenges, opportunities, and needs as we move into 2025. With 42,000 businesses from 27 European countries, this comprehensive survey is the go-to source for understanding what’s happening on the ground in Europe’s business landscape. The #EES2025 findings are a stark reminder of what’s at stake for Europe’s real #economy. This survey is more than just data—it’s a call to action for creating a business-friendly environment that fosters growth, innovation, and #competitiveness across Europe. It’s time for the #EU and national leaders to act, delivering decisive measures to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness. #Chambers4EU Read the #EES2025 report➡bit.ly/EES2025_Report Ben Butters Giacomo Fersini, Ilaria Colajanni
