🚨 Together with 15 organisations, we have addressed a joint letter to the new Executive Vice-President for People, Skills, and Preparedness, Roxana Minzatu. We welcome the new EVP and request a meeting to discuss the upcoming first-ever EU Anti-Poverty Strategy, announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. This is a pivotal moment for the EU to intensify efforts in the fight against poverty and work towards its eradication. As civil society organisations working on a wide range of fundamental rights, our diverse and complementary perspectives will be key to contribute to a comprehensive and intersectional EU Anti-Poverty Strategy, that aligns with other key EU policy frameworks. In 2024, Europe witnessed an unprecedented number of national elections. While some countries have made steps forward to promote and protect children’s rights, others need to intensify their efforts. This diversity is reflected in the lived realities of children across Europe.
