European Energy Forum

Public Policy Offices

The open exchange of information on all aspects of energy, with all stakeholders, is crucial in the legislative process

About us

Our Forum meets the need for open information and exchange of views of policy makers, providing them with all data necessary to understand the issues at stake. From there, they will be able to form their opinion autonomously when shaping political solutions. We make sure there is a reciprocal exchange of information between the MEPs and the private and public stakeholders but also the institutional representatives, as well as all other interested parties. It is key for all energy stakeholders to achieve an overall understanding of energy, climate, and transport-related topics.

  • 💬 Very informative and stimulating debate on the #Biomethane in the EU: advancing the Energy Union through existing gas infrastructure! Our speakers from GIE, NaTran (ex GRTgaz) and Cefic explained some key aspects of #biomethane: - It is a readily available renewable gas that can be integrated into current networks. - It contributes to sector integration, circular economy, and energy security. - It requires a harmonized certification system, regulatory clarity, and cross-border coordination. - It plays an important role in decarbonizing end-use sectors which is crucial for achieving climate goals. Our thanks EEF President Tsvetelina Penkova, and all the EEF Active and Associate Members in the audience for a very lively debate!

  • ❗️The #EEF_EnergyDebate on EU-UK energy cooperation: Towards a more secure, resilient, and sustainable Europe highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation in navigating the energy transition. The UK Mission to the EU hosted our discussion yesterday on their premises. After a warm welcoming word from Deputy Ambassador Read, Minister McCarthy addressed the key challenges and opportunities in energy policy and provided a strong foundation for an engaging and productive discussion. Our panel moderated by EEF President Tsvetelina Penkova discussed how collaboration can drive the achievement of the 2030 and 2050 climate targets with speakers from National Grid and Equinor, along with remarks from Ronan Devaney, Deputy at the department for energy security and net zero. The importance of enhancing North Sea collaboration, developing resources and suppliers, strengthening long-term energy connections and developing the girds were emphasized as a step toward improving resilience, flexibility, and cost efficiency in the energy transition. Energy is at the core of the EU-UK reset ⬇️ [More information available in the link below]⬇️
