Mental Health at Work: European Forum’s Position   The European Forum of the Insurance Against Occupational Accidents and Diseases has expressed concerns regarding the classification of anxiety, depression, and burnout as occupational diseases. They emphasize that these conditions often arise from a variety of factors, not solely from workplace-related causes.   The Forum calls for further research into the connections between mental health and working conditions and points out that the WHO classifies burnout as a syndrome rather than a disease. News on Occupational Diseases in Austria!   On March 28, 2024, the Occupational Diseases Modernization Act came into effect. Updates from the European Forum’s Occupational Diseases Working Group in Zagreb!   Position paper - Mental health at work: the European Forum takes a stand! Yes to preventing psychosocial risks. No to including anxiety, depression and burnout in the European list of occupational diseases.
