🌍✨ This morning, I had the opportunity of delivering the opening presentation at the "OSH under Climate Change / Green Transition" seminar, organized by the Education Department of European Trade Union Institute (ETUI). 📌During the event, we explored some of the key challenges we face in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH) in the context of climate change and the green transition: ➡️ The increasing occupational risks linked to climate change. ➡️ Emerging risks associated with the green transition. ➡️ The significant differences between northern and southern Europe, highlighting the need for tailored approaches. ➡️ The heightened vulnerability of specific sectors and workers during this transition. We also emphasized the importance of integrating OSH into climate policies and vice versa, ensuring a truly just and sustainable transition. 🌱🔧 I am deeply grateful to all the participants for their valuable contributions and to ETUI for spearheading such impactful spaces for dialogue and learning. These initiatives are vital for building a safer and more equitable future. 📌 What other topics do you think should be prioritized at the intersection of OSH, climate change, and the green transition? ________________________ 🌍✨ Esta mañana tuve la oportunidad de realizar la presentación de apertura del seminario "OSH under Climate Change & Green Transition", organizado por el departamento de educación de European Trade Union Institute (ETUI). 📌Durante el evento, reflexionamos sobre algunos de los grandes retos que enfrentamos en el ámbito de la seguridad y salud en el trabajo (SST) frente al cambio climático y la transición verde: ➡️ El aumento de riesgos laborales vinculados al cambio climático. ➡️ La aparición de nuevos riesgos derivados de la transición ecológica. ➡️ Las marcadas diferencias entre el norte y el sur de Europa, que resaltan la necesidad de enfoques contextualizados. ➡️ La vulnerabilidad de ciertos sectores y personas trabajadoras en este proceso de cambio. Además, se subrayó la importancia de integrar la SST en las políticas climáticas y viceversa, para garantizar una transición verdaderamente justa y sostenible. 🌱🔧 Quiero agradecer a todas las personas participantes por sus aportaciones y al ETUI por liderar estos espacios de debate y formación.
