Senior women leaders: How can workplaces avoid tokenism and make sure everyone feels heard? On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, it’s important to think about how workplaces can go beyond tokenism and make real progress in inclusion. Tokenism in the workplace often appears through symbolic hires, limited career growth, lack of inclusivity, or unvoiced challenges faced by individuals, including those with disabilities. As Peter Brown puts it: “The distinction between genuine diversity and token representation lies in the depth of inclusion.
