Europump is holding its winter meetings in Brussels this week: a total of 42 pump experts joined to listen to regulatory updates, to discuss the progress on various Europump guides and positions and to spend a convivial moment with colleagues. Many working groups presented the results of the work done during the last months, namely but not exclusively on PFAS, RoHs, taxonomy, Ecodesign, ESPR, EPD, environmental footprint. We are taking compliance serious. Following the update of our Code of Conduct (CoC), we have provided a compliance training to all active members, explaining not only the Code of conduct (do's and don'ts) and recent changes, but diving deep into our procedural rules. We held our autumn meetings in the exciting city of Istanbul last week. The three days of discussion and exchange on technical issues, regulatory and standardization of pumps were attended by 46 pump experts. A special workshop was dedicated to digitalization. Furthermore our Executive Council met on Friday. A big thank you to our Turkish member association POMSAD who hosted the meetings. Europump held a workshop on the digitalization of the pump industry today in Istanbul. ·       What are the main topics and pain points for our industry? ·       What legislations are involved and how do they affect each other? ·       And how to approach them in an effective and structured way within our organisation? These were the main questions addressed in an interactive workshop format. Data safety, protection, storage and ownership, cyber resilience, digital product passport, pumps specific data, intellectual property, data exchange, as well as the recruitment of experts were a few of the topics brought up during the event. One conclusion was that we are facing extensive regulation whilst the needed standardisation is still missing.
