With less than two weeks to go, now is the time to register for Putech Congress, this year taking place in Istanbul on 6-7 November. The Congress will gather industry leaders and representatives from the whole PU value chain to discuss the latest developments and technologies in the PU industry and provide an opportunity to expand the business network. We’ve participated in a packed 2-day programme at Evonik’s #PUAcademy, expanding our knowledge on #polyurethane chemistry and receiving detailed insights into foam testing methods, learning nuances of different foam types, PU machinery, safety aspects and various other topics💡 Thanks to Isabelle Wessely Daniela Hermann Felix Mühlhaus and the rest of the organisation team for inviting us and for your hospitality 🤝

This week our Board of Directors had the chance to visit our two northernmost member companies: Ekornes (also known for its famous Stressless brand) and Laader Berg AS near Alesund in Norway. Thanks Sveinung Utgård, Mateusz Balon, Per Henning Vaagen and Ove-André Strand-Larsen for the warm welcome!

A warm welcome to three new Associate Members to our association! Brighi Group is a family-run company established in 1970 and based in Forli (Italy). Brighi is a well-known machinery producer for the bedding industry. For the flexible PU foam industry, the company notably supplies PU foam scrap shredding and PU foam rebonding machines. TripleR is based in Belgium and provides digital solutions for the bedding industry. Notably, their software enables the Digital Identification of bedding products and the eventual creation of a Digital Product Passport for mattresses. SECONDLY is a French company that mechanically recycles end-of-life mattresses and creates new products from rebonded foam. It operates two recycling sites and has recycled more than 3 million mattresses to date. We further strengthen our expertise across the #polyurethane foam value chain, enhancing our collective knowledge and capacity to tackle key challenges in our industry. We look forward to future cooperation 🤝

This week we held our working group meetings on Product Stewardship and Environment, Health & Safety, each attended by around 20 experts from member companies. In Product Stewardship, next to discussions on chemical policy, guest speaker Martin Johnson from IKEA presented on the company's product standards. The group also dedicated a focus group to beta testing of a planned module of #CertiPUR for rebounded foam. In the EHS working group, members notably discussed safety guidelines for flame lamination and latest updates on the Industrial Emissions Directive. Great thanks to everyone participating in these activities that also help taking our industry forward ⏩
