Another intense, grueling but very productive ISO - International Organization for Standardization 𝐓𝐂𝟐𝟎𝟒 𝐖𝐆𝟏𝟒 meeting week in Chennai, India. We discussed the finalisation text for various standards on #AutomatedDriving nearing their publication: from Motorway Chauffer Systems to Minimal Risk Manoeuvres, to ODD Boundary definitions, Automated Valet Parking, the list goes on. Add to that, a flurry of new & updated work items on Pedestrian AEB, SAE J3016, Adaptive Cruise Control, 𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝐓𝐂𝟐𝟎𝟒 𝐖𝐆𝟏𝟒 is a busy bunch of experts... Huge thank you to our convenor - HAYAKAWA YASUHISA & our secretary - Ayumi Ikeda for their great leadership & management of the work programme. And grateful to all the technical experts whose friendship and expertise continue to inspire me every day: thank you Ryan D. While we have had taxonomies for ODD, a standardised taxonomy for defining the Behaviours and Behaviour Competency for Automated Driving has been missing. This BSI Flex 1891 aims to cover this gap and bring more clarity and interoperability to the Automated Driving ecosystem. Honoured and excited to have led this timely effort with contributions from several industry experts in the UK and internationally.
