🌍 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐙𝐀𝐆 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 🏗️ On October 15, 2024, the ZAG - Zavod za gradbeništvo Slovenije Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) celebrated its 75th Anniversary with an Open Day at its headquarters in Ljubljana and the Fire Laboratory in Logatec. The event showcased cutting-edge technologies in construction, including a live 3D printing demonstration of safety wall segments, highlighting the role of 3D printing in sustainable building practices. In addition to the 3D printing demo, guests had the chance to participate in hands-on activities, such as air pollution measurements, a sand-and-paper construction challenge, and a tour of ZAG’s Fire Laboratory, where large-scale fire testing facilities were on display. The event was an incredible platform for professionals in engineering, construction, and material science to connect, exchange ideas, and share firsthand the innovations shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure.

In the session: Building the Roads of Tomorrow: Enhancing Infrastructure for Autonomous Mobility 📍 experts gathered to discuss advancements in infrastructure for autonomous mobility. 🛣️ ♻️ Rebuilding for Resilience: CIRCUIT Project in Action in Slovenia In August 2023, catastrophic floods devastated Črna na Koroškem in Slovenia, leaving roads, homes, and communications infrastructure in ruins. Slovenia called for international aid through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism, and now the CIRCUIT project is on the ground, supporting recovery with innovative and sustainable solutions.   Our latest video highlights CIRCUIT’s efforts to rebuild with resilience, focusing on reuse and recycling to create smarter, greener infrastructure:   🚧  Bridge Construction for Flood Resilience: We’re repurposing old girders from a flood-damaged bridge and using precast elements made from recycled materials. Today at Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress in Barcelona, in front of a packed audience of over 100 attendees, FEHRL took the stage to bring the infrastructure perspective into focus for Strengthening European Transport Innovation (#StrengthM).
