💼 As of the 1st of December, the new European Commission has kicked the new political mandate.   Continuing our standing collaborative dialogue, ACEM welcomes the new College of Commissioners. We look forward to continuing our efforts to drive progress through the Motorcycling Manifesto supported by FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), FEMA Europe, and ACEM. Here’s how we aim to make an impact: 🏍️ Road safety: protecting riders as Vulnerable Road Users both in cities and the road network to reach the EU safety goals by 2030; 🍃 Environment and sustainability: developing advanced vehicles to meet the EU climate goals by 2050 enhancing performance and efficiency; 💪 Competitiveness: strengthening the motorcycle industry by creating jobs and contributing to Europe's economic growth; 💡 Research and Innovation: developing cutting-edge technologies for new vehicles and products supporting decarbonisation and safety; 🤝 Leisure and tourism: promoting the social, cultural and sporting value of motorcycling activities for the benefit of the society. Together, we will keep Riding Together for Europe! 🌍   Ursula von der Leyen, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, Maroš Šefčovič, Stéphane Séjourné, Wopke Hoekstra, Roxana Minzatu, Jessika Roswall, Dan Jørgensen, Glenn Micallef, Teresa Ribera, Valdis Dombrovskis, Ekaterina Zaharieva. #motorcycling #sustainability #mobility #transport #competitiveness #innovation #urbanmobility

  • MANUFACTURERS' RECALL A combination of high ambient temperatures, high current loading and excessive lateral tension may cause the wiring between the alternator and the harness connector on your Triumph Bonneville T100, Bonneville T120, Street Scrambler, Scrambler 900, Street Twin or Speed Twin 900 to form a bridge. If the connector’s blades form a bridge, a thermal threshold can be reached that exceeds the connector’s capacity and causes the connector to become deformed. This can result in a short circuit, increasing the risk of fire, and creating a risk of accident. Check our website for the production dates. • MANUFACTURERS' RECALL The primary drive gear tightening bolt on your Honda GL1800 is prone to fatigue failure due to excessive stress from bending forces. When this occurs, the pulse rotor becomes dislodged, leading the ignition signal to fail and causing the engine to stall while driving or fail to start. This creates a risk of accidents and injuries to vehicle occupants. Check our website for the type approval/model information. • MANUFACTURERS' RECALLS The regulator output wire on your Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide, CVO Road Glide, CVO Road Glide ST, Street Glide or Road Glide may rub against the crankcase's front corner, leading to insulation wear and potential exposure of the conductor. If this occurs, the 60-amp main fuse can blow, resulting in a sudden loss of propulsion and all electrical power without warning. This increases the risk of accident and injuries. A fault in the traction control system on your Voge SR4 can cause the motorcycle’s ignition to cut out unexpectedly while overtaking another vehicle. This increases the risk of accidents and injuries. Check our website for the production dates. FEMA, Europe's leading motorcyclists' organisation, shows you all recalls: https://lnkd.in/gkfztAi

Safer roads for motorcycles. With 28% of the global fatalities being riders or passengers on motorcycles and other powered two-wheelers, road safety for motorcyclists is an important issue. More action is needed in harmonizing of standards, researching the causes of motorcycle crashes, the consequences of crashing into barriers and other obstacles as well as planning, building, and maintaining roads with motorcycles in mind. Solutions for these situations are available, as FEMA and SMC show in their paper 'Safer roads for motorcycles': https://lnkd.in/e9tK7TUV

  • Improving motorcyclists’ safety: FEMA joins the European Road Safety Charter. The Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations (FEMA) has officially joined the European Road Safety Charter (ERSC), marking a significant step toward enhancing road safety for motorcyclists. The ERSC, spearheaded by the European Commission, is the largest civil society platform dedicated to road safety, with over 4,000 public and private entities actively participating. This collaboration will enable FEMA to share its expertise and initiatives, contributing to a broader community focused on improving safety for all road users. By joining forces, FEMA and the ERSC aim to inspire and learn from each other, implementing effective actions that target motorcyclists specifically. As Europe’s leading motorcyclists’ organisation, FEMA is poised to make a meaningful impact in promoting safer riding conditions across the continent.
