Researchers have uncovered that #aspartate plays a key role in driving lung #metastasis in #cancer. VIB-KU Leuven Center for Cancer Biology’s study, published in Nature, shows how aspartate activates a signaling pathway that enhances cancer cell aggression in the #lung. Ginevra Doglioni, PhD student at the Fendt lab and first author of the study, says: “We found high levels of aspartate in the lungs of mice and patients with #breastcancer compared to mice and patients without cancer, which suggests that aspartate may be important for lung metastasis.” 🫁 https://lnkd.in/e46JqbfW
