On Monday, GET.invest #FinanceCatalyst Advisor Jerry Okoko attended the 2024 High Level Caribbean Forum, hosted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in partnership with the Government of Barbados. The Forum is a platform for policy-makers, finance institutions and other key stakeholders to exchange on critical issues affecting the Caribbean. Introductory remarks were provided by Prime Minister of #Barbados Mia Mottley and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. This year's theme was "Managing the Green Energy Transition", directly tying in to the outcome of the #COP29 discussions where island states made a dramatic appeal to the international community to actively assist in making more projects bankable. Our participation in this high-level event underpins the traction that GET.invest has built in the region, where the programme has supported several companies access finance for renewable energy. 📣 GET.invest #Eswatini has successfully concluded after two and a half years of supporting local stakeholders. During its 30-month run, this country window supported the local #RenewableEnergy sector, including private companies, project developers, business associations and financing institutions. Several Swazi companies, like Usutu Forest Products (Montigny Investments), were accepted for financial intake from #financing institutions. Combined, these projects have a foreseen investment volume of EUR 26 million and are expected to avoid at least 48,500 tons of CO2 per year 🟢⚡️ GET.invest Eswatini worked closely with local stakeholders, especially Business Eswatini (BE) and the Renewable Energy Association of Eswatini (REAESWA), benefitting from their local knowledge and network. At the same time, the country window enabled the participation of selected members of these associations in international sector events, strengthening local leadership 🤝 Despite the end of dedicated in-country activities, the GET.invest services will remain available to companies and project developers in Eswatini through the broader programme. GET.invest Eswatini thanks its co-funders, the European Commission and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and its partners BE and REAESWA, for their continuous support and strong collaboration in addressing the country’s renewable energy goals. Norge satser stort på fornybar energi i utviklingsland! For første gang lyser vi ut 1,75 milliarder kroner i statsgarantier for å støtte investeringer i fornybare energiprosjekter. 📈 Les mer om ordningen og søknadsprosessen her https://lnkd.in/dBgMRmes 🌱✨ Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs #FornybarEnergi #Bærekraft #Investeringer #FaktaHarMakta #BistandVirker
