  • Tuesday evening, was an evening to remember, filled with inspiration, innovation, and authentic stories of entrepreneurship. ✨ korneel vandenbroucke, general manager of Orsi Academy, shared the fascinating journey of this pioneering center. He shared how they tackled the challenge that the academic medical training has remained largely unchanged for over a century, despite the rapid innovation in the field. Orsi’s impact was recognized with the Regiostar Award, celebrating their excellence and innovation at the European level. ✨ Marie Van den Broeck, CEO and founder of My Add On, demonstrated the power of collaboration. By involving her users from R&D to communication, she exemplifies what true customer-centricity looks like. This commitment to collaboration has earned her two Henry Van de Velde awards, a true reflection of the value of listening and adapting to those you serve. ✨ Wim Audenaert, CEO of AM-Team, offered an honest and open account of the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. His work in transforming the water purification industry earned him the prestigious Change Makers Award and left us inspired by his drive and resilience. As a gesture of appreciation, each speaker was surprised with a custom-designed lamp, handcrafted and 3D-printed by Wesly Jacobs—produced literally in-house and symbolizing the light they bring to their industries. A big thank you to BNP Paribas Fortis for their hospitality, to Willem Vertonghen and Thibaud Tack for the great (and fun 🤩 ) collaboration, and to Melissa Van Hauwermeiren for her meticulous work behind the scenes. To the managers, entrepreneurs and former minister of healthcare who attended: may the stories shared inspire fresh perspectives and bold actions in your own journeys! 🌟 #VoorEenWereldInVerandering #Collaboration #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #Connection

🖊️ A new chapter in the history of Health Hub Aalst began last Friday, as we launched our very first management program for change agents in healthcare organizations. 🎉 It was a pleasure to bring together professionals from both hospitals and the healthcare industry, all united by a shared commitment to drive innovation and improve healthcare. A big thank you to our participants for their enthusiasm / interactivity and to our partners for sharing their expertise; Tine Adriaensen from IDEWE kicked things off with a powerful testimonial on how their innovation strategy is structured. We then dove with Robin Decoster (Odisee) into key frameworks for setting up an innovation strategy and measuring its ROI, explored creative business models (because when hospital budgets are tight, creativity is key!) with Hendrik Baudrez (KPMG), and wrapped up with a practical session on budgeting innovation projects - thanks to Jetty Van Lent (BNP Paribas Fortis) for leading that conversation. Looking ahead to Day 2, we’re excited for the deep dive into the hard skills of innovation management: Frank Staelens (OLV Ziekenhuis Aalst-Asse-Ninove) will take us through the latest tech innovations in healthcare, Susanne Nybergh (BD) will share valuable tips on data protection and privacy, and Matthias Marescaux (KPMG Belgium) will provide insights into IP management. In the afternoon, Erwin De beuckelaer (HOGENT) will lead an exploration of the design thinking methodology. It’s shaping up to be another insightful day!

  • 🥪 At last week's Lunch & Learn, a room full of health tech entrepreneurs gathered to explore how VLAIO - Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship, MEDVIA, and the Provincie Oost-Vlaanderen can support their ventures. Each attendee brought a unique business case and thoughtful questions, sparking insightful discussions on leveraging available resources. It was eye-opening to see the breadth of assistance these organizations provide. A big thank you to our guests and everyone who contributed to the engaging conversations. The session clearly underscored the importance of tapping into the right support to drive success in health tech! #Letsgo! 📅 Looking ahead, our next Lunch & Learn on Fri. 29 Nov will feature experts from Odisee (Jo Praet —great for those looking to work with interns or seek research help) and BNP Paribas Fortis (Willem Vertonghen & Thibaud Tack - who will offer insights on securing financing and managing cash flow). Intersted in joining this informal setting where you can ask your own questions and learn from others' questions & experiences?
