Doe mee aan onze Sponsorloop voor Kom op tegen Kanker op 16 februari! Elk jaar krijgen meer dan 40.000 Vlamingen te horen dat ze kanker hebben. Dit jaar kreeg ook Pauline, ons nichtje, het hartverscheurende nieuws dat ze getroffen is door een kwaadaardige tumor. Ondanks de enorme vooruitgang in de medische wetenschap, wordt pijnlijk duidelijk dat er nog altijd een tekort is aan middelen voor onderzoek en behandeling. Daarom willen we samen een verschil maken. Onze sponsorloop op 16 februari wordt georganiseerd om geld in te zamelen voor de 100 km-run van Kom op tegen Kanker, waar wij: Simon Demey (40 km), Julie Demey (30 km), @Lauranne Deblonde (20 km) en Emmeline Deblonde (10 km) op 16 maart zullen deelnemen. Om dit mogelijk te maken, hebben we het bedrag van €2750 nodig om rechtstreeks bij te dragen aan het fonds van Kom op tegen Kanker. Hoe kun jij helpen? Loop mee: Je loopt rondjes van 1,7 kilometer en laat je sponsoren door vrienden, familie of collega’s. Zij sponsoren je met een vast bedrag per rondje, dat na afloop vermenigvuldigd wordt met het aantal rondjes dat je hebt gelopen. Meedoen kan vanaf elk bedrag. Voorbeeld: Als 3 sponsors jou elk €4 per rondje geven en je loopt 4 rondjes, zamel je €48 in! Kom supporteren: Ben je geen loopfanaat? Geen probleem! Je bent van harte welkom als supporter. Last week, we gathered for a small, festive, and cozy Christmas party to already capture a little bit of the spirit of the season. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the year gone by, celebrate our achievements, and appreciate the bonds we’ve built within our team.   The warmth and joy shared among colleagues reminded us of the importance of togetherness and the power of a supportive community. As we look forward to the new year, we’re filled with gratitude for the moments we’ve shared and the milestones we’ve reached together. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year!

Last Saturday our Hict colleague, Caroline Verdonck, MD, PhD, provided general practitioners, primary care nurses and practice assistants some tools on how to implement #populationhealthmanagement in their practices during the Domus Medica vzw skills training day. Caroline highlighted the importance of a clear goal for a well-defined target group, and well-thought-out #communication between all involved stakeholders. And of course, she put the participants to work to get started with their own population health management projects!
