Brewing great memories! 🍻 Last Friday, our LCL team gathered at the iconic Duvel Moortgat brewery for a day filled with learning and laughter. We kicked off the event with warm coffee, followed by an engaging session from our guest speaker, Marnix (NIX) Verduyn, a PhD researcher in Artificial Intelligence and a comic book artist, who offered a fascinating glimpse into the world of AI. This was then followed by inspiring presentations from our talented colleagues. The day continued with a captivating tour of the brewery, showcasing the craftsmanship behind Duvel’s signature beers. To end the day, we enjoyed a delicious dinner, freshly poured beers, and plenty of laughter. 🍽️ It was a fantastic way to celebrate the conclusion of a successful year. Tackling fire risks with green solutions 🌱 At LCL, we take our responsibility to the environment seriously. That’s why we’ve decided to make our automatic fire suppression system more sustainable by switching to the greener extinguishing gas IG-100 at LCL Brussels-North (Diegem). Until recently, our systems used FM200, a gas with high levels of fluorinated compounds and a significant environmental impact. A single system activation would jeopardise our CO2 goals, something we simply could not accept. By transitioning to IG-100, which has zero environmental impact, we’re taking a major step towards a greener future.💡As part of this project, we also installed silent nozzles to protect our customers’ sensitive equipment. With a fresh and enthousiastic perspective fueled by her extensive experience, Hendou is set on enhancing our procurement processes to not only be cost-effective but environmentally conscious. LCL’s vision involves not just internal improvements but extending our sustainability practices to our suppliers. By educating and collaborating with them, we aim to create a ripple effect of sustainability throughout our supply chain. Progress update on BN5 at LCL Brussels-North 🚧 In early 2024, we kicked off construction of our newest data center in Diegem, in partnership with VMA and MBG. This marks a major step towards establishing LCL Brussels-North as the region’s leading data center complex. Progress is moving quickly! With excavation complete, we’re now working on the concrete framework from the basement to the first floor. The new facility will eventually span four floors, designed with flexibility in mind to accommodate client-specific requirements as we grow. Green fact: both the west and south facades of BN5 will feature solar panels! We’re proud to have gained approval to make this sustainable feature part of BN5’s design.
