It’s a wrap! Gisteren hebben onze MBG H.E.R.O.’S, samen met al onze bouw- en ontwerppartners, Nobel 1 voorlopig opgeleverd aan UZ Gent. 🎉 Enkele indrukwekkende cijfers: - 15 bouwlagen (-1 tot +13). - Een DB-traject van minder dan 3 jaar tussen gunning en oplevering (inclusief vergunningstraject). - Minder dan 20 maanden voor de realisatie, waarvan slechts 16 maanden vanaf het voorbereidend grondwerk tot de eerste ingebruikname in augustus 2024. Dit alles was alleen mogelijk dankzij fantastisch teamwerk. Onze H.E.R.O.’S lieten de CFE-waarden schitteren, samen met bouw- en ontwerppartners die stuk voor stuk uitblonken in hun taak, aanpak en samenwerking. Een welgemeende dankjewel aan opdrachtgever UZ Gent voor deze prachtige opdracht en de zeer constructieve samenwerking. 🚁 Stunning drone footage of our construction site at Martelaarsplein in Brussels! 🏛️ Currently, two buildings are under renovation for the Flemish Government, with one nearing completion. As this phase wraps up, the construction site will shift to the opposite side of the square, marking the next step in this major revitalization. We're thrilled to share that we've been entrusted with the transformative renovation of the Nationale Bank van België headquarters in Brussels.   The National Bank of Belgium plans to renovate its headquarters by 2030, creating a modern, sustainable workspace for its staff in Brussels. Following a public tender, the design was awarded to KAAN Architecten and LOW architecten (the Statuur consortium).   The Bank's operations, currently spread across multiple buildings, no longer meet operational and energy efficiency standards. By consolidating staff into a single building, NBB1, the Bank will reduce its occupied surface area from 217,000 m2 to about 80,000 m2. Remote working practices further reduce the need for workstations.   The NBB1 block, consisting of historical structures from the 1860s to the 1960s, requires a new vision to transform it into a future-oriented space. The renovation plan includes a spacious courtyard garden, strategic voids to enhance vertical relationships, and double-height ceilings to provide natural light and a sense of space.   The renovation will transform NBB1 into a cutting-edge smart building, improving energy performance and optimizing space use with advanced smart systems. 🚀 NOBEL I reaches new heights + maypole celebration We are thrilled to share a major milestone for NOBEL I: all 12 floors are now complete, and the sky blue crown was placed last week, marking the highest point of the building. We celebrated reaching the project's highest point by ceremoniously planting a maypole, symbolizing the growth and the future of this remarkable undertaking. For DDS-Verko's open call of their new HQ offices, we had big plans to turn the industrial area around Verko in Dendermonde into a lush, recreational wetland. Our five-story design stands as a beacon of sustainable development, with a design that reaches upwards while keeping its footprint modest and its heart green. The ground floor unfolds into a public plaza, offering a spacious foyer and auditorium conceived to bring people together. Above the bustling life of the ground floor, we designed smart layers where flexibility and productivity are key. The interior is fully developed on the principles of 'activity-based working'. We extend this concept to the outdoors where at every floor terraces stimulate people to work outdoors.  The area surrounding the office building is bustling with life, as greenery takes over the scene to seamlessly blend office spaces with nature. The building's skin is alive and designed as a vertical garden that provides a habitat for wildlife, birds, insects, etc. also providing natural cooling and outdoor 'rooms'. Even though our project didn’t make the cut, we’re proud of what we envisioned: a place where nature comes at first place.
