Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, Kristel Frencken developed a natural curiosity for understanding what drives businesses and how to improve them. Along the way, she learned some beautiful wisdom that she shared with us👇 “One of the greatest and most powerful lessons I learned is just how deeply the human aspect impacts the success of change.” Kristel explains: “It’s not always the strategic or operational challenges that are the hardest to manage, but the personal fears and anxieties people experience.  Change often brings uncertainty, and people may resist not because they disagree with the direction, but because they feel insecure about their role in the new landscape. I’ve learned that it’s essential to address these emotional barriers - by fostering open dialogue, showing empathy, and creating a space where people feel heard and supported. In the end, change management is about building trust and helping people navigate the emotions that come with transformation, as much as it is about executing a plan.” She also shared an inspiring motto - one that keeps her grounded in challenging times: “No matter how difficult the journey, having faith and determination helps you overcome fear and obstacles, knowing that every step brings you closer to your goal. The end of an era! Last Friday, after nearly 15 years, Geert Letens delivered his very final lecture as a professor at the Royal Military Academy, Belgium. Strengthening communication between departments and collaboratively tackling shared challenges. During the session, the head nurses openly discussed daily pain points and practical solutions by using the 6BOC model to identify 'gainers' and 'drainers' with real-life examples. Katrien Vandaele, Care Manager at AZ Sint-Elisabeth Zottegem, shares: “Gunter and Riana took us into the challenging world of the six batteries of change. An inspiring methodology to increase the success rate of change projects. Folkert Huysinga reminds us that true leadership isn’t just about the boardroom - it’s about passion, people, and the stories we share along the way.👇 Having built his career in strategic procurement at Philips, alongside experience in M&A and corporate sustainability, Folkert noticed a key issue: The soft, human factor was often overlooked in these areas… So in 2015, he made an impressive move and not only studied at the Philips University & Aberkyn (a McKinsey company) to become a certified team performance facilitator - he also became a certified Hypno-psychotherapist! Folkert: "Because of the duality in my career, I get excited when an assignment has both the ’soft’ and ‘hard’ focus in order to make impact for the greater good.” And when he’s not leading change, he recharges as a volunteer in training to become a quartermaster on Eendracht, one of Europe’s largest sailing vessels: “I like to cross the ocean, being inspired by the various groups of people who sign up for these journeys and who often have special needs.” Your passion for both business and people shines through in everything you do Folkert.
