A toxic fit costs more than an empty seat. And when someone doesn’t align with the team, it’s no longer their issue, it becomes the management’s responsibility. The very second the problem is spotted, it’s time to act.  Retrain them, shift them to a role that suits them better, or let them go if you must. Sitting on the problem only makes it worse. The damage spreads to the team, driving morale down and setting the stage for the most efficient and resilient members to leave in search of a team where they can thrive.  Keeping someone in the wrong position because you don’t want to leave the spot empty doesn’t just risk turning them into an asshole, it pulls the entire team down with them.  And let’s be clear, this applies to every role, even, and especially, if that seat is the CEO. A toxic fit at the top poisons the culture from the top down. No individual, no matter how skilled or experienced, is worth sacrificing the health of the team or the future of the company.  The bottom line is simple. Never sacrifice team culture to avoid a vacancy. An empty seat is temporary. The harm caused by the wrong person can take years to undo for everyone involved.  We can all become assholes at some point in our careers. It’s never a goal and never fun. Feeling misaligned or stuck can bring out the worst in anyone. Finding a place where we belong makes us feel useful, fulfilled, and accomplished.  When dealing with a bad fit, honesty is key. It is the kindest thing to do, for the person, for the team, and for the company. Everyone deserves a chance to be in a place where they can thrive. #Team #BadFit #Responsibility

Kero. <! -- Début de l'extrait Mon expérience personnelle s'est révélée étonnamment positive. Dans ma famille, le plus grand saut dans l'inconnu a consisté à abandonner la voiture. Mais nous avons très vite compris que de meilleurs choix avaient déjà été "ajoutés" à notre quartier sous la forme d'un club d'autopartage incluant les rues alentour.Nous avons donc fait le grand saut et nous ne l'avons pas regretté. Posséder moins et partager plus peut se révéler libérateur. Cela fait du bien tout simplement. Ce que j'ai appris, de façon très personnelle, est que le plus dur, dans le changement, c'est le moment qui le précède. Nous nous concentrons trop facilement sur ce que nous considérons comme une perte et avons beaucoup plus de mal à imaginer ce que nous avons à y gagner. Ce pourrait être vrai au niveau de la société également. Le moment le plus difficile, quand on veut changer le système qui formate nos modes de vie, est peut être celui qui précède le grand saut. Mais d'ici une dizaine d'années, nous y repenserons en nous demandant pourquoi nous avons résisté avec tant de force, douté si longtemps, et mis autant de temps à adopter les modes de vie qui nous permettront à tous de prospérer, au sens propre.
