Decreasing offshore wind cable risks by continuous health monitoring using advanced fiber optic sensing technology.
About us
Marlinks offers a condition based-monitoring system for all subsea power cables with the aim of reducing failure rates of subsea transmission systems, thereby maintaining transmission efficiency. We provide active decision support with our services for the O&M phase of subsea assets. Offering a strong service line that can monitor the Depth of Burial, RTTR and Cable Exposure of subsea power cables through DTS and we have recently launched a new product service using DAS that has the potential for a wide range of monitoring aspects, including partial discharge identification and location, CPS movement detection including abrasion monitoring, freespan detection through to strain sensing for fatigue monitoring. Both service lines monitor the transmission system through fibre optic packages embedded in composite submarine power cables, the service doesn’t require the use of offshore vessels or subsea intervention for the operations monitoring; thereby reducing risks, costs and carbon footprint. As government grants drop and margins get smaller, Marlinks can help you to avoid unexpected costs and secure your power links.
