As we delve into the final chapter of our report, we spotlight critical cross-cutting themes that emerge from the report: 🔹 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 🔹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻  🔹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 🔹 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 Building on these pillars, the chapter outlines actionable recommendations: 🚨 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀.  ➡ Create a national framework to monitor and assess immunisation performance, setting clear goals and identifying indicators to measure progress. ➡ Engage a geographically balanced expert group to design model frameworks, identify best practices, and expand EU-level monitoring through standardised indicators.  📢 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.  ➡ Protect prevention budgets from short-term cost-cutting measures. ➡ Monitor and promote prevention spending as a key investment in health, resilience, and economic performance through the EU’s European Semester process. Together, these cross-cutting recommendations pave the way for robust and future-ready immunisation systems. Let’s continue advancing these vital efforts! 🌍 👉 https://lnkd.in/ehVPf-px

  • Exploring Chapter 4 of our Consensus Report: Convergence and alignment! While decisions on vaccination schedules remain a national competence, disparities in these processes are unjustifiable on public health grounds. Such differences lead to unequal health protection for citizens, erode vaccine confidence, and underscore the urgent need for a more harmonised approach. MBVE’s recommended actions include: 📆Develop a more aligned approach to life course immunisation through a core calendar for adult vaccination. 💡Address key gaps in decision-making pathways on vaccination to enhance their consistency, inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. This need for action was also highlighted in the European Commission’s 2018 Communication on strengthened cooperation against vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs). Furthermore, best practices in decision-making should be shared and amplified through the EU NITAG Network to drive alignment. 🤝It’s time to act! By fostering greater alignment and transparency, we can ensure equitable health protection, restore public trust, and build a healthier Europe! Stay tuned for final Chapter on cross-cutting themes! 👉 https://lnkd.in/ehVPf-px

  • Let’s dive into Chapter 3 of our Consensus Report: Citizens’ Access to Vaccines! Access to preventative health care is a fundamental right, as highlighted in the European Charter of Fundamental Rights. Yet, many barriers persist, limiting citizens’ ability to access vaccines: ➡Prolonged decision-making processes on National Immunisation Programmes (NIP): In 1/3 of European countries, it takes over 6 years for vaccines to become accessible to the population. ➡Barriers for disadvantaged population groups: Documentation requirements, limited healthcare accessibility, and linguistic or cultural obstacles continue to leave many behind to access vaccine. Our recommended actions to address these issues: ⏱️ Speed up evidence-based decision-making to ensure timely, equitable access to vaccines across all populations  🎒 Make vaccination services more accessible, especially in schools, workplaces, and community pharmacies, supporting a life-course approach to immunisation. 👥 Improve vaccination equity and uptake through national strategies targeting disadvantaged groups, promoting cross-sectoral collaboration, and best practices. Key actions to support these recommendations: 🔹 Adequately resourced National Immunisation Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs) to evaluate vaccines efficiently and timely. 🔹 EU-level collaboration among NITAGs can help reduce capacity pressures and avoid duplication of efforts. 🔹 Fostering collaboration with sectors like education and employment can ensure more equitable access for all. By taking these steps, Europe can build a future where every citizen has equal access to vaccines, improving public health and reducing inequalities. Stay tuned for Chapter 4 where we’ll explore convergence and alignment of immunisation programmes! 👉 https://lnkd.in/ehVPf-px

  • Exploring Chapter 2 of our Consensus Report: Beliefs, perceptions, and vaccine confidence! Vaccination remains one of the greatest achievements in public health. Yet, across the EU, vaccine confidence faces growing challenges: ➡ Misinformation spreading through social media ➡ Shifting policies and government trust ➡ The introduction of new vaccines ➡ Disease outbreaks and pandemics These factors contribute to vaccine hesitancy, driving the resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) and highlighting the need for urgent, coordinated action at local, national, and European levels. 📊 Key insight: The State of Vaccine Confidence in the EU report reveals a troubling trend—younger adults (18–34) are becoming less confident about vaccines compared to older generations. Our recommended actions: 🚨 Develop an EU vaccine confidence rapid alert and response system to enable timely risk analysis and policy action. 👥 Strengthen community engagement on vaccination through national strategies, research and exchange of best practice. 💬 Ensure training on vaccination and communication skills for pre- and in- service health care professionals. Building trust and fostering collaboration are essential to achieving high vaccination coverage and protecting communities across Europe. Stay tuned for Chapter 3: Citizens’ Access to Vaccines—coming soon! 👉 https://lnkd.in/ehVPf-px

  • Let’s dive into Chapter 1 of our Consensus Report: Data and evidence for decision-making! 📊 Data and evidence are the backbone of effective vaccination strategies – they inform and guide decision-making on new vaccines and vaccination programs, support the surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs), and monitor vaccination coverage and confidence. Yet, critical gaps remain that hinder progress, including: ➡ Lack of nationwide data on complications linked to several infections in population subgroups, as well as on vaccination coverage rates (VCRs). ➡ Fragmented national approaches to the evaluation of vaccines/vaccination programmes, leading to diverging levels of health protection across European countries. Our recommended actions: 🔍 Enhance data collection and evidence generation to support the strengthening of vaccination policies, strategies, and the broader health care system. 💡 Strengthen the alignment of national approaches to evidence-based decision-making on vaccination through a common European value framework: Let’s harness the power of data to drive impactful vaccination policies and strengthen programs across Europe! 🌍 Stay tuned for Chapter 2, where we explore our recommendations on vaccine beliefs, perceptions and confidence!
