MEDiate project has achieved an important milestone through the Serious Game workshop that was held in one of the project’s Testbeds: City of Oslo. The event was led by Oslo kommune's Emergency Planning Agency and NORSAR. The workshop was attended by different stakeholder groups from different agencies of Oslo municipality and representative agencies from first responders to rank a set of impact criteria against a compound quick clay scenario, and to visualize how different stakeholder preferences affect the decision-making in identify the optimal mitigation actions, through MEDiate-DSS platform. The outcomes from the serious game workshop represent an important input for the upcoming disaster risk management exercise that will be carried out by the end-users and stakeholders using the MEDiate-DSS platform with its full functionalities. The discussion underscored the crucial role of 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬-𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in enhancing preparedness and mitigation efforts. ✅ 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝: 🔹 The role of stakeholders in risk mitigation 🔹 Scenario-building for disaster preparedness 🔹 Selection of optimal strategies for disaster risk mitigation Barbara Borzi and Alessio Cantoni from 𝐄𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 actively contributed their expertise in 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬, while gathering stakeholder needs to integrate them into the platform. These discussions are vital in shaping 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 for disaster preparedness. A 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 is scheduled to occur in one week, February the 7th.

Today, NORSAR, EUCENTRE, and Oslo Municipality's Emergency Planning Agency held a one-day workshop to discuss the risk and resilience assessment of a compound quick clay scenario and its integration into the MEDiate DSS platform. Engaging directly with end-users through in-person workshops is essential to ensure that technological solutions align with their requirements and needs!   Stay tuned for next week’s “serious game” workshop where different agencies from the Oslo municipality will conduct silent negotiations to rank a set of impact criteria and visualize how different mitigation actions affect risk and resilience metrics.
