We contributed to the Baltic power grid synchronization with continental Europe! 🔌 ⚡ 💡 The N-SIDE Energy team is proud to announce the successful deployment of the Baltic Balancing Capacity Market (BBCM) platform, allowing the historic synchronization of the Baltic power grid with continental Europe! Our team supported this milestone transition as the Baltics disconnected from the BRELL ring, the power grid that previously linked them to Russia and Belarus. They operated in island mode for 33 hours before joining the European network. This achievement marks a major step in their energy transition, breaking historical ties with their former grid partners to fully integrate with the European network. The BBCM platform went live on February 3rd, completing its first auctions and deliveries ahead of the critical synchronization weekend. The platform performed effectively throughout the February 8-9th transition, ensuring 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. By optimizing these services, our solution played a key role in helping the three Baltic states successfully integrate into the European power system. Looking ahead, the N-SIDE Energy team will continue to enhance the BBCM platform to support optimal reserve procurement and dimensioning as the Baltic states strengthen their integration with the European power system. We take pride in contributing to this transformative project and remain committed to supporting the Baltic states in their journey toward a more integrated and efficient energy market.
