Carbidopa/levodopa is the mainstay of treatment for the motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and can be very effective in controlling the stiffness and slowness that are so characteristic of PD. But there are many formulations of this medication available, including two new options that were recently approved by the FDA, which can make the choices very confusing. But APDA is here to help you make sense of it all! Join us on January 8 at 1pm ET as Dr. Eleni Okeanis Vaou, a Movement disorders specialist, discusses the many forms of carbidopa/levodopa and answers your questions live during the program. Register today! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ejPUqwcr #Parkinsons #PDTreatment #DrGilbertHosts #CarbidopaLevodopa

“This procedure changed my life,” says Nicole, who underwent deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease. Months after the birth of her first child, she was diagnosed with the condition at 28 years old. Before deep brain stimulation, Nicole says she experienced uncontrollable daily tremors that made her struggle with everyday tasks and kept her from her hobbies. Since deep brain stimulation, Nicole says she rarely experiences tremors and drastically cut down on the medications needed to manage her symptoms. She’s also been able to get back to the activities she loves most – from riding horses to braiding her daughters’ hair. Nicole continues to see success two years later. 📩 This month’s newsletter takes an exclusive dive into the literature, data, methods and calculations behind the reference oculomotor ranges. 📊The consultation report provided after a neuroClues test includes key computed biomarkers, like latency and error rates. These are paired with reference values drawn from the latest of eye-tracking research, giving clinicians the tools to make informed comparisons and assessments. 🔍 With carefully selected methods and precise calculations, we’ve built these ranges to support clinical decisions. We envision a future where every test contributes to an ever-growing dataset, shaping the next generation of neurological care. 👀 Curious about how it all comes together? The full story is waiting on our website. #biomarkers #eyetracking #neuroscience * neuroClues is in research & development phase and its commercial availability is pending regulatory approval.
