🔊 The NGI - The Next Generation Internet initiative projects announce their decision to discontinue the use of X. As a project part of the #NGI initiative, NGI Sargasso, will join this decision of leaving the social media platform X. This strategic move aligns with NGI’s commitment to fostering an Internet that embodies European values of trust, security, and inclusion. 🌍 The NGI initiative, launched by the European Commission, aims to shape the development of the Internet into an #InternetOfHumans that responds to people’s fundamental needs and reflects the values and norms enjoyed in Europe. Recent evaluations have raised concerns about X’s alignment with these principles, particularly regarding data privacy, user autonomy, and the spread of misinformation. Our #NGISargassoInnovators doing their thing: rocking! 🚀 🇫🇷 The CEO of Startin'blox, Benoît Alessandroni, attended the Gaia-X Association for Data and Cloud (AISBL) Summit, and in the post below they share the highlights of their participation. Startin'blox was selected in our second open call with their project RSFA - Rosetta Stone for API, in partnership with Open Food Network Canada 🇨🇦. Interoperability has become a major demand of digital ecosystems globally. Achieving it usually means aligning the APIs of different organizations with a common semantic ontology. The Rosetta Stone for APIs makes it easy to align your organization’s APIs with the ontology of your industry. 💡 Check our Innovators Portfolio here: https://lnkd.in/dEm2Znrf #GaiaXSummit24 #NGISargasso #InternetForHumans #InternetOfTrust
🌍 Looking Back at the Gaia-X Summit 🌟 Benoît Alessandroni, CEO of Startin'blox, attended the Gaiax Summit, an event marked by notable advancements. Here’s what stood out: 🚀 On the Technical Front: The Gaia-X Lab has introduced a library that simplifies the creation of Verifiable Credentials—a promising tool for those exploring Dataspaces and seeking to strengthen compliance and interoperability of data. This development aligns with Gaia-X's strategy to streamline the adoption of its standards and principles. The new release of the Gaia-X Digital Clearing House Components, named "Loire," marks a significant milestone. Presented at the Summit’s Tech Theatre, this release delivers essential tools for automating compliance based on the Gaia-X Compliance Document 24.06. These components operationalize key elements of the Gaia-X Trust Framework, further enhancing trust and interoperability within data ecosystems. To complement this advancement, a new course from the Gaia-X Academy has been launched, offering participants technical training on implementing compliance and interoperability frameworks. 🌐 Ecosystem on the Move: The Gaia-X ecosystem continues to expand with the announcement of new hubs in Denmark, Norway, and Switzerland, solidifying Gaia-X's presence in the Nordic region and beyond. These hubs are set to play a pivotal role in driving regional innovation and fostering the adoption of Gaia-X standards. Early progress with Simpl demonstrates notable maturation within the Dataspaces ecosystem, a positive sign of growth despite ongoing challenges in building robust technical infrastructure. 💡 Meetings and discussions: Benoît Alessandroni had the pleasure of connecting with Rajiv Rajani MSc from iSHARE Foundation, discussing the potential of linking our NGI Sargasso Search project. We met Benoit Tabutiaux from DataSpaceLab proposed deploying connectors in controlled environments – a promising avenue to explore. Startin’blox was proud to hear positive feedback from Sebastian of Sovity and Mathijs from @SCSN and researcher at TNO about their podcast participation. We hope that a deeper collaboration with Sovity is still to be defined. ✨ Conclusion: This Summit reflects Gaia-X's current state: tangible progress alongside significant challenges. It's an ambitious journey, and there’s still much work to be done to make Dataspaces a sustainable reality. Let’s share your point of view in comment! 💬 https://lnkd.in/dk9NyBWZ

🙌 Congratulations to Alex Grech, Klaudia Gyorgyi Farkas and Lluís Alfons A. for their excellent work! 🔝 💡 They are the brilliant minds behind the #NGISargasso Open Call 1 project EBSI-CAN: EBSI and Verifiable Credentialing in Canada. Discover more about it in this interview with Alex and read their report below: https://lnkd.in/dHCQrya4 #NGISargassoInnovators #EBSI #DigitalCredentials #Interoperability #Education #NextGenerationInternet #InternetForHumans #InternetOfTrust
This report examines the feasibility of using #EBSI to seamlessly recognise, verify, exchange and share #digitalcredentials between the EU and Canada, using a digital credential ecosystem that supports cross-border #recognition and #verification, with an emphasis on #identity and #trustframeworks. Our focus is on the #business and #technical feasibility of using EBSI, a system developed for pan-European #interoperability, into Canada’s provincially regulated #education system. As of Q2 2024, EBSI has been rebranded as ‘#EUROPEUM’ and will be deployed through the EUROPEUM-#EDIC. See: https://lnkd.in/dM9cJE3X Alex Grech Klaudia Gyorgyi Farkas Lluís Alfons A.
