But what lies behind the creation of #Nicols? Nicols is a family business, founded in 1947 by Nicolas Klimis, the father of the current CEO, who started his business in a small workshop in the center of Brussels selling #sponges from the Aegean Sea and chamois leather to continue the family business tradition. Nicolas Klimis wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father, Jean Klimis. The latter had founded his own company "J et K Klimis", a workshop for preparing sea sponges, alongside his brother in 1898, and during the first half of the 20th century became Europe's largest trader in sea sponges. Over the years, Nicols has evolved into a leading manufacturer of household cleaning products, offering a variety of products such as scouring sponges, microfiber cloths, air fresheners and toilet care products. With two production sites in France and Poland, Nicols distributes products in over 50 countries and counts 18 of Europe's Top 20 distributors among its customers.
