About us
nova.healthcare is a European nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality (and low cost!) support to the healthcare sector. nova.healthcare aims to provide affordable, practical support to individual and institutional stakeholders. We immerse ourselves in the practices of the healthcare stakeholders and offer hands-on assistance. Concretely, nova.healthcare supports the healthcare sector through: - Strengthening recruitment and talent management: We offer low-cost, high-quality recruitment services and provide individual guidance to newly contracted workers. - Revisiting healthcare projects and practices: We facilitate change management through innovative thinking, consensus building, practical implementation, and outcomes evaluation. - Developing in-depth public affairs strategies: We assist with monitoring regulations and laws, mapping policymakers, drafting lobbying notes, and organizing strategic meetings. - Finding new funding opportunities: we strengthen the financial sustainability of institutional care stakeholders through innovative funding resources. Why? Because healthcare stakeholders face dramatic challenges such as: - An ageing population with increased health needs - Pressure on human resources, leading to absenteeism - Rapid technological advancements - Evolution of roles among stakeholders e.g. low-threshold primary healthcare and high-quality hospitals - The expected impact of the climate crisis and the reduction of healthcare carbon footprint These issues require to: - Rethink professional environment - Redesign practices and projects - Reset healthcare and related policies - Improve financial conditions Navigating these issues is particularly difficult for healthcare stakeholders, especially those most affected by recent crises. Often, the guidance and assistance available to them are disconnected from the realities of day-to-day operations and budgetary constraints. This is why nova.healthcare has been created! ---

#Climate change will have a profound impact on people and economies – causing an estimated additional 14.5 million deaths and $12.5 trillion in economic costs between today and 2050. However, through investments in enhanced #prevention, improved #diagnostics and novel #treatments, 6.5 million lives could be saved, economic losses reduced by $5.8 trillion and 1 billion fewer disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) accrued. https://lnkd.in/gq_meUES

📢 New Research Publication! 📢 I am thrilled to share our recently published article: "Association of Burnout and Intention-To-Leave the Job With Objective Nursing Workload and Nursing Working Environment: A Cross-Sectional Study Among Intensive Care Nurses." Journal of Clinical Nursing This study, conducted in France , reveals critical insights into burnout (64.7% prevalence) and intent-to-leave (20.7%) among ICU nurses. Key findings include: ✅ Better work environments significantly reduce burnout and the intention to leave. ✅ Excessive workloads (NAS > 100%) are associated with higher burnout and turnover rates. A special thanks to my incredible co-authors: Jerome Dauvergne Nicolas Bouckaert Anaëlle CAILLET Walter Sermeus Laurent Poiroux Koen Van den Heede 🙏 I am also deeply grateful to all the ICU nurses who participated by completing the questionnaire and the NAS. Additionally, thank you to the professional societies and organizations that supported us in recruiting the participating centers SRLF - Société de Réanimation de Langue Française Fédération Nationale des Infirmiers de Réanimation-FNIR SFAR - Société française d'anesthésie et de réanimation. 📄 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eTREKk9w Let’s use these findings to drive meaningful change in the work environments and workloads of ICU nurses, ensuring their well-being and better patient care. 💙👩⚕️👨⚕️ #Burnout #NursingWorkload #ICUNurses #HealthcareResearch #WorkEnvironment #NursingShortage Ecole de Santé Publique de l'ULB

Doctors and Nurses Should Get Ready for Mass Deportations "Frightening people away from medical care is a sure way to increase expenses when controllable conditions such as diabetes explode into medical emergencies. It also has the potential to kindle outbreaks of infectious diseases. As Covid surely taught us, our health is intimately intertwined with our community’s. Managing emerging infections such as bird flu as well as stalwarts like tuberculosis, syphilis and measles will be hampered if people are too afraid to seek medical care." https://lnkd.in/e5gGsbAA

"#Menopause #care must adopt an inclusive and personalised approach, as has been done for other conditions, to address the unique needs of both #cisgender and #transgender populations across global settings and to integrate diverse cultural practices. However, to truly improve menopause care, we must also work towards destigmatising menopause. Destigmatisation requires a global, multisectoral approach with comprehensive research, improved #health-care access, practical workplace policies, and coherent messaging and communication to enable a more open and supportive society." https://lnkd.in/e7b4xuPz

"Epidemiology is at a critical juncture. Faced with declining resources, staff burnout, and increasing disease outbreaks, the field is being pushed to innovate. The adoption of high-reliability principles, borrowed from industries where failure is not an option, is emerging as a promising solution. This shift is already yielding results, as with the investigation of foodborne illnesses." https://lnkd.in/emF7i9gT
