🎻 The Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Hungary! 🇭🇺   🤩How proud we were to represent Belgium on the international stage during our recent tour of Hungary, the homeland of our Music Director Gergely Madaras! Our musicians shared unforgettable moments with a warm and enthusiastic audience in 3 emblematic venues in the country: the Liszt Academy in Budapest, the Hangvilla in Vezsprém, and the Kodály Center in Pécs. On the programme: César Franck's Symphony (born in Liège !), the Orchestra's calling card abroad, as well as Liszt's The Black Gondola (in an orchestration by John Adams), and Elgar's Cello Concerto with Hungarian soloist István Várdai.   🙏 Many thanks to our local organisers and partners : Filharmonia Hungary ( Szabolcs Szamosi, Balazs Porszasz), Askonas Holt (Evie Van Lima, Sophie Alabaster, Sergio Porto, Esther Killisch), Liszt Academy (András Csonka), Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (Edit RANKY), Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI), the Belgian Embassy in Hungary (Jeroen Vergeylen, Caroline Toussaint). Belle soirée de présentation de l'Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège au B19 Liège-Bocholtz. Aline Sam-Giao a eu l'occasion de présenter l'Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège en termes de gestion, de fonctionnement actuel et de projets futurs. Merci au Vice-président de l'Alliance française de Liège, Monsieur Perilleux, pour l'introduction de cet échange ainsi qu'à LEMAIRE GUY pour son accompagnement lors de cette présentation, toute l'assemblée fut visiblement conquise.

Ce vendredi à la Salle Philharmonique !

Ravis de cette collaboration avec le Grand Curtius lors de la Nocturne des Coteaux à #Liège ! 👇   Samedi 6 octobre, une expérience ludique, musicale, patrimoniale et immersive autour de la musique symphonique de Beethoven en réalité virtuelle était proposée au Palais Curtius : «Beethoven 360» 🎶   Le concept ? Les participants, assis sur des chaises pivotantes, assistent depuis l’intérieur de l’orchestre, à l’interprétation du Premier Mouvement de la célèbre 5e Symphonie de Beethoven par l’orchestre Insula Orchestra dirigé par Laurence Equilbey comme s’ils étaient l’un des musiciens jouant dans l’orchestre. Ils peuvent ainsi observer à la fois la cheffe et les autres musiciens et profiter de ce chef-d'oeuvre de la musique d'une manière complètement originale ! Une expérience de réalité virtuelle produite par CAMERA LUCIDA PRODUCTIONS et distribuée par Lucid Realities / Unframed Collection , avec la participation d'Orange. 📺 THE OPRL ON MEZZO THIS SUNDAY ! Throughout October, our Music Director Gergely Madaras will be "Conductor of the Month" on Mezzo, with no less than 3 recent OPRL concerts.   Since 2016, the OPRL has become one of the featured orchestras on the international TV channels Mezzo (the discovery channel) and Mezzo Live (“the most beautiful concert hall in high definition”). Partners with Europe's leading concert halls and orchestras, these channels are now broadcast in over 75 countries, reaching 80 million subscribers.   On this occasion, starting this Sunday, October 6, at 10:20 pm, the music channel will broadcast the original concert “L'après-midi d'un faune”, filmed on April 27 at the Salle Philharmonique of Liège. An opportunity to meet our Music Director again in Debussy (with the Chœur Symphonique de Namur), but also in the beautiful flute/piccolo concerto "Thaleia" by British composer Christian Mason, undeniably one of the most exciting and meaningful contemporary creations of the decade. A score inspired by ancient mythology and transcended by the captivating musicality of flutist Noemi Gyori.
