Our experts support you with biorisk management and compliance by navigating you through the complex biosafety and biotechnology regulations. Biorisk management covers all aspects of biological safety and security such as inventory management, risk assessment, containment and confinement requirements, training, audit, transport, waste handling, and emergency preparedness. Our team integrates technical background with an in-depth knowledge of the European regulatory requirements for biological material, including genetically modified organisms. We provide assistance in complying with complex regulatory requirements on contained use, workers' protection, pathogens, import and export, emergency planning, deliberate releases such as field trials and clinical trials, and commercial applications. We have a track record in advising on design, following up construction and commissioning, and managing biological safety and operations of up to biosafety level 3 facilities ranging from research laboratories, large-scale production plants, clinical, hospital, and gene therapy settings to plant and animal bio-containment facilities. For genetically modified material, we offer extensive expertise in all life cycle phases, including those that extend beyond containment (e.g. field trials, commercial applications, movement of materials, and imports).

🎉 Exciting News! 🚀 On 6 December, we celebrated Perseus and ABSint joining forces and the launch of 3BIO 🤝 We are excited to share with you that Perseus and ABSint have joined forces - and will now operate under the common brand 3BIO. This integration allows our combined teams to provide a comprehensive set of expert services and tools in Biodiversity, Biosafety and Biotech Regulatory supporting our clients in their compliance management when working with biological material, from resource, via lab to market. This support is possible through the multidisciplinary team of 3BIO, containing 15 highly skilled professionals with different backgrounds, including science, law, and regulatory disciplines. At 3BIO, we understand scientists' challenges when working with biological material. We enable the R&D of our clients so that they can bring their groundbreaking innovations to the market faster. At our launch event, Prof Dr Jo Bury, Director Emeritus of VIB, the Flemish Institute of Biotechnology gave a keynote lecture, followed by an animated panel chaired and moderated by Dr Isabelle Francois, director of innovation at the health innovation cluster Medvia. In this panel, Dr Isabel Vercauteren – Aphea.Bio, Dr Hanne Callewaert – Astrivax, Dr Markus Wyss – DSM and Salima Kempenaer – Belgian Federal Government shared their perspectives on the theme "Unlocking the use of biological materials from resource via lab to market: regulatory challenges and opportunities.” The milestone of launching 3BIO on 6 December was especially significant as it coincided with Perseus's 20th anniversary. We couldn't be prouder of our incredible journey, and we are grateful for the trust our clients have shown Perseus and ABSint throughout the years.
