Enhancing quality of life for patients and families with Tuur!    For more than three years now, Tuur Habraken has been working as a consultant with Pi Life Sciences by Abylsen, and started a new project in June at one of the world’s leading biotechnology production sites 🌍.   In his current role as a cGMP Engineer, Tuur ensures that the production process follows strict safety and quality regulations to guarantee that the medicines being produced are both safe and effective. He’s also part of a team that solves problems during production and looks for ways to improve the entire process.   Right now, Tuur is focused on two life-changing medicines which are used to treat Pompe disease, a rare genetic disorder. In people with this disease, the body can’t break down a certain type of sugar, which causes damage to muscles and tissues. The medicines Tuur helps produce replace the missing enzyme, enabling patients to break down the sugar correctly.   Although Tuur studied these processes in school, this is his first time seeing them in action. Over the next few months, he’s diving deep into each step of the process, learning everything there is to know so he can master it. It’s a challenging but exciting journey that’s pushing him to grow and develop in ways that will shape his future career 🚀 Thank you Tuur for sharing your project & expertise!

"I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of our work when my daughter received a vaccine, I helped ensure was safe. 🧪👨🔬 As a Pi consultant, I work as a project engineer/scientist in the Quality Control (QC) department of various Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies, providing support in the transfer, qualification and validation of analytical methods. By working together as a team for implementing and executing these analytical methods, we can guarantee the quality of the pharmaceutical products and thereby the safety of patients. Although we do not always realize this in our daily activities, we do have an impact on patients’ lives. This became even more clear when my daughter received a vaccine for which I was involved in the quality control.
