Oude Egyptenaren vervormden hoorns van schapen #sciencenews Onderzoekers van het Instituut voor Natuurwetenschappen en University of Oxford hebben op een Egyptische vindplaats het oudste bewijs gevonden van vee waarvan de hoorns doelbewust waren vervormd. 🐏 De oude Egyptenaren forceerden de kurkentrekkervormige hoorns van schapen, die van nature zijwaarts groeien, tot ze kaarsrecht stonden. ‘Het is voorlopig gissen waarom ze dat deden’, zegt archeozoöloog Wim Van Neer.
