About us
The 21st edition of the International Conference on Renewable Resources & Biorefineries will take place in Turku, Finland from 2-4 June 2025. Keep up with our newsletter. Looking forward to seeing you in Turku! Based on the previous RRB conferences, this conference is expected to welcome about 350 international participants from over 30 countries. Delegates from university, industry, governmental an non-governmental organizations and venture capital providers will present their views on industrial biotechnology, sustainable (green) chemistry and agricultural policy related to the use of renewable raw materials for non-food applications and energy supply. The conference further aims at providing an overview of the scientific, technical, economic, environmental and social issues of renewable resources and biorefineries in order to give an impetus to the biobased economy and to present new developments in this area. The conference will provide a forum for leading political, corporate, academic and financial people to discuss recent developments and set up collaborations. The three day international conference will consist of plenary lectures, oral presentations, poster sessions, an exhibition and a biobased market. Companies and research organizations are offered the opportunity to organize a satellite symposium.

A nice collaboration between #EndofWaste and #ITNGreenChem (UGent) supporting the 3 student teams with a nice prize and endless fame! To the 3 teams: Keep up the entrepreneurial spirit! #SynBioC #BISC-E
It was a pleasure to host the Tech Tour Circular event! This dynamic event showcased around 40 groundbreaking companies, each driving change in the circular economy and design sector, presenting to a group of active investors. They were all active in areas such as Construction & Infrastructure, Chemistry & Plastics, Bioeconomy, Manufacturing & Materials, Feed, Food, Fork, and Water Loops. Our Belgian BISC-E student challenge was embedded in this event. The top 3 competing teams (EcoGel, Charbrick and SCOBY) did an amazing job to pitch their biobased innovation. A big thanks to the jury members: Viviane Verbiest from Crelan, Jasmine Versyck from B2BE Facilitator (Business to Bioeconomy) and Gaëlle Lobelle from Team Bedrijfstrajecten - VLAIO. Looking forward to coach team CharBrick further to the EU finals, hosted by Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), to compete against the other teams. Thanks to our partner in organising this great event: Invest in Ghent (Stad Gent), Tech Tour, Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT), North Sea Port, PMV, Crelan (UGent-Crelan Leerstoel), B2BE Facilitator (Business to Bioeconomy), AstroBio Green Solvents, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, VITO4STARTERS and Vlerick Business School. #TTCIRCULAR24 #CircularEconomy #greenchem #endofwaste #biotech #cleantech #startup #venturecapital #BISC-E
