🔥 We are in the middle of one of the crucial weeks for the renewal of Social Economy Intergroup (SEIG)! Today we want to share Ignazio Marino words on Social Economy and the renewal of the SEIG. He is Member of the The Greens/EFA in the European Parliament On Ignazio Roberto Marino, MD, ScD words, renewing the SEIG is “extremely important because one of the target of the next five years is the climate change and the ecological transition.” 👋 As you know Social Economy contributes to some of the main challenges Europe is facing like the green transition through upcycling and recycling, or energy cooperatives and communities that provide clean energy and participate in strategic energy autonomy through citizens participation. Furthermore, as Ignazio Marino says, “everybody should have a house where they can live safely with their family” and Cooperative Housing, Community Land Trust (CLT) and Social Housing are Social Economy’s solutions that are already addressing the Housing Crisis efficiently. 👏 Social Economy is addressing people’s concerns, and it needs political support from the European Parliament (EP) to develop fully. 💪 Discover Ignazio Marino full interview, where he explains why it is so important to renew the Social Economy Intergroup of the EP. 👀 👀 Groupings are deciding this week which Intergroups are supporting so, don’t hesitate to share with your MEP!! 💪 AIM - Association Internationale de la Mutualité/International Association of Mutuals CECOP CEPES Confederación Empresarial Española de la Economía Social ConcertES ESS France (La Chambre française de l'économie sociale et solidaire) FEBEA - European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks and Financiers Eurodiaconia Diesis Network ENSIE NETWORK The Wheel Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association ADV Romania TechSoup Coompanion Microfinance Centre European Microfinance Network REVES - EUROPEAN NETWORK OF CITIES AND REGIONS FOR THE SOCIAL ECONOMY

👋 👋 In this crucial week for the renewal of the intergroups, we want to share thoughts from Mrs. Maravillas Abadía Jover, Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from the European Popular Party (EPP). She comes from the Region of Murcia in Spain, in her own words, “a place where Social Economy is a key pillar of our policies”, she is a truly committed supporter of the renewal of the Social Economy Intergroup (SEIG) since she was elected as MEP. 👏 To her, this crucial Intergroup provides the entire ecosystem a meeting place where “various stakeholders, including MEPs, associations, foundations, and corporations” can meet and find “long-term solutions”. 👏 🔥 The SEIG has played a fundamental role for the momentum that Social Economy is living at both European and International Level. It has been an essential player for the approval of: ▶️ The Social Economy Action Plan (2021- 2030), ▶️ The Council Recommendation on developing Social Economy framework conditions, and of course, ▶️ The Transition Pathway for the Proximity and Social Economy ecosystem. Discover Maravillas Abadía’s full interview and why she finds it so important to support the renewal of the Social economy Intergroup. 👀 👀 🔥 Groupings are deciding this week which Intergroups they are supporting so share the video and tell your MEP to support the Social eocnomy integroup! 💪 💪 AIM - Association Internationale de la Mutualité/International Association of Mutuals CECOP CEPES Confederación Empresarial Española de la Economía Social ConcertES ESS France (La Chambre française de l'économie sociale et solidaire) FEBEA - European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks and Financiers Eurodiaconia Diesis Network ENSIE NETWORK The Wheel Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association ADV Romania TechSoup Coompanion Microfinance Centre European Microfinance Network REVES - EUROPEAN NETWORK OF CITIES AND REGIONS FOR THE SOCIAL ECONOMY

Agreement amongst EU groups on VP Commissioner designate has been reached: all designate VP of the EC have been approved! What’s next? Next week (on the 27th) the European Parliament votes on the overall college of commissioners, and if all goes smoothly the new EU Commission starts December 1st. What about the Commissioners we identified to specifically drive SE policies? Stéphane Séjourné and Teresa Ribera don’t seem to have any changes in portfolio or title, while @Mînzatu’s portfolio may be changed to “Quality jobs and social rights, education, skills and preparedness". We are waiting to see if there are any changes to the Commissioners' mission letters... Will Social Economy be included in Roxana Minzatu's portfolio? Given what she said at her hearing, "Social economy will be one sector that we will boost" it is possible. As for Stéphane Séjourné and Teresa Ribera, all we can do now is wait and see. Stay tuned 👀 👀 AIM - Association Internationale de la Mutualité/International Association of Mutuals CECOP CEPES Confederación Empresarial Española de la Economía Social ConcertES ESS France (La Chambre française de l'économie sociale et solidaire) FEBEA - European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks and Financiers Eurodiaconia Diesis Network ENSIE NETWORK The Wheel Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association ADV Romania TechSoup Coompanion Microfinance Centre European Microfinance Network REVES - EUROPEAN NETWORK OF CITIES AND REGIONS FOR THE SOCIAL ECONOMY
