Owner @ Stas Retro-Engineering | We help industries to reproduce complex parts for which they don't have any drawings or 3D files | 50 + industrials trusting our expertise

🏎️ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬: 𝐀 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 📖 Restoring classic race car brakes presents several key challenges. The first step: capturing the geometry. Some areas where not accessible with the scanner, so we used a mix of 3D scanning and traditional tools to capture the full shape. Then came the design. The original brake calipers were cast but remaking them for CNC machining required rethinking every aspect—adapting for drafted surfaces, tooling limits, etc. Getting the tolerances just right was essential to avoid leaks or stuck pistons. Finally, the manufacturing challenge, for example, deep drilling a 3 mm hole through 200 mm of metal (>60xD!) … 😮 The parts were crafted from 7075-T6 aluminium and finished with a hard anodized coating for durability. 🦾 The result? A perfect blend of reverse engineering and design, breathing new life into these classic brakes. What’s the last design and manufacturing challenge you’ve encountered? Let’s hear your stories! 🚗🔧 #BMW635CSI #GROUPA #GRA #ReverseEngineering #RetroEngineering #CNCmachining #Mesh2Surface  #SolidWorks #ZeissQualitySuite #Racing #Obsolescence #MechanicalDesign #ClassicCars #PrecisionEngineering

💡 #3Dscanning #reverseengineering #obsolescence #usinageCNC #HARDOX450

🚀 Maintenance Spare Parts management with Advanced Technology 🛠️ We are now leveraging cutting-edge scanning and reverse engineering technologies to remanufacture sprockets with unmatched precision and efficiency! 🔍 How it Works: Precision Scanning: We start by using state-of-the-art 3D scanners to capture every detail of the original sprocket. This ensures we have an exact digital replica of the part. Reverse Engineering: Our team of expert engineers analyzes the scanned data to understand the sprocket's design intricacies. This process helps us uncover the original manufacturing intent and any areas for improvement. Remanufacturing: Using the reverse-engineered data, we produce new sprockets that meet or exceed the original specifications. In this case the sprockets are made of C45 steel and are then following anti-corrosion treatment. 🌟 Benefits: Enhanced Accuracy: Our advanced scanning technology ensures every remanufactured sprocket is a perfect match to the original. Cost-Efficiency: By remanufacturing instead of producing new parts from scratch, we reduce costs and pass those savings on to our customers. At Stas Retro-Engineering, we're committed to blending innovation with tradition to deliver the highest quality products. This new approach to sprocket remanufacturing is just one example of how we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the industry. If you're interested in learning more about our remanufacturing process or have parts that need a new lease on life, let's connect! 📩 #Manufacturing #Engineering #Innovation #Remanufacturing #Sustainability #3DScanning #ReverseEngineering #Obsolescence #ATOSQ #Zeiss

#BEMAS FORUM #MAINTENANCE 2024 #BoisDuCazier – BE What a great event with a lot of interesting exchanges with participants about spare parts management and the difficulty to get replacement parts in time and at a reasonable price. We discussed #obsolescence management and how parts #remanufacturing via #3Dscanning and #reverseengineering could solve this problem. We also had the opportunity to highlight how 3D scanning can be used to accurately control the dimensional and geometrical deviations between the remanufactured part and the #CAD file used for #manufacturing. End to End services, as we like to call it, from scan to parts with all the #qualitycontrol included. Special thanks to GOM Metrology Belgium for supporting us in the preparation of this event and of course thanks to the BEMAS - Belgian Maintenance Association for organizing this !
