We are delighted to present a video that offers a concise summary of the STARS project. STARS (STrategic Alliances boosting Railway Smes) was a project focused on the recovery, transition, and resilience of European SMEs working in for the passenger and freight mobility. The project successfully harnessed advanced technologies to address, adapt to, and enhance Europe's response to a multitude of challenges, while boosting companies' competitiveness. STARS succeeded in bringing innovative features in SMEs' solutions, contributing to making railway transport the structural backbone of mobility and logistics throughout Europe, aligning seamlessly with the goals set forth in the EU Green Deal and the new EU Strategy on Sustainable and Smart Mobility. The project played a pivotal role in fostering and completing the green transition within our sector. We invite you to watch the video to relive the journey and learn more about the significant impact that the completed STARS project has had on the future of mobility and logistics in Europe. Boosting SMEs in the Rail & Multimodality sector with Advanced Technologies | Project funded by COSME programme of EU
About us
STARS is a project funded by the European Union's COSME Programme which addresses all aspects related to the uptake of advanced technologies for the delivery of Railway-related innovations by SMEs. Approaching technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Big data, Internet of Things, IT for Mobility, Cybersecurity, Advanced Manufacturing, Advanced materials, will boost competitiveness of our European SMEs towards the Railway & Multimodality meta-ecosystem, which is strategically important for the European Industrial Transformation and Resilience. STARS4TRACE is the service designed for STARS project which enables the railway SMEs to exchange digital assets representing physical goods in a way which promotes a transparent and auditable business. All the operations representing the SME's business processes are recorded on the network and they are digitally signed and sealed by a double layer infrastructure. The first layer is a distributed network relying on the Partners taking part in the project. The second one is a public blockchain which enhance data integrity. Both the networks are fully open for the connection and the inspection while preserving the privacy of the data of the partecipants. Many use cases are supported, from the KANBAN production model to the prototype development, but we foresee that new cases will arise during the development of the STARS project and the uptaking of the new technologies.
