Team Awareness Enhanced with Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality
About us
First responders are the groups of people, services and organisations with specialised skills and qualifications whose duty is to arrive first to the emergency zone, search, save and rescue operations, and perform crisis management in natural or human-made disasters. Although first responders provide secure and safe societies by protecting the communities, responding to the disasters and rescuing lives, they often use inefficient, weak and obsolete technologies in the operations. With respect to the current situation, the operational capabilities of the first responders can be dramatically boosted by the advances in technology and engineering fields such as smart sensor systems, wearables, data processing, data fusion, data analytics, communication infrastructure, and artificial intelligence tools. The main objective of TeamAware Project is to develop an integrated and cost-efficient situational awareness system for first responders from different sectors with heterogeneous and hardly interoperable sensor units including drone mounted, wearable, and external sensor systems, existing first responder services, and operation centres. The purpose is to enhance crisis management, flexibility and reaction capability of first responders of different sectors through real-time, fused, refined, filtered, and manageable information by using highly-standardized augmented reality and mobile human machine interfaces.

On March 15, 2024 our partners from #Johanniter Research and Innovation Centre (JOAFG) once again paid an end-user visit to the Gumpoldskirchen fire service to present the TeamAware project. The firefighters showed great interest in the developed solution and there was a fruitful exchange about the urgent need for practicable solutions to provide the best possible protection for emergency services during their operations.

On Monday, the 4th of March 2024, our partners from # Johanniter Research and Innovation Centre (JOAFG) visited the Berufsfeuerwehr Graz (fire brigade Graz) and presented the # TeamAware solution. The colleagues from the Graz fire brigade were very keen to learn more about the solution developed as part of the project. There was a lively exchange about the user-friendly TeamAware system, which is designed to help first responders from different areas to work together more effectively in emergencies with the help of augmented reality and mobile interfaces and to improve their crisis management and response capabilities.

🚨 We need your feedback 🚨 As part of our ongoing efforts to innovate and improve emergency response systems, we invite you to participate in the "TeamAware Evaluation of Individual Components Demonstrations" survey. 🔍This survey aims to assess the acceptability and desirability of the TeamAware solution, a state-of-the-art system designed to improve situational awareness for first responders in various sectors. Your feedback is critical to help us; filling out the survey takes only 3-4 minutes. Please make sure to watch the video above before starting to answer the survey! 👉 Participate now: EUSurvey - Survey (europa.eu) 🙏Many thanks for your support!
