📢 We are thrilled to announce that TechEthosEU has been named one of the world’s leading ethical practices in the newest CORDIS Results Pack on ethics and integrity in research, released by the European Research Executive Agency (REA) in cooperation with the European Commission's DG RTD. 💡 This recognition highlights our commitment to ensuring that scientific and technological progress aligns with societal values and ethical standards. 🎯 The #H2020 TechEthos project aimed to provide guidance for the development and deployment of new and emerging #technologies. While emerging technologies often bring significant social, economic, and environmental benefits, their development and use can also raise substantial ethical concerns and questions. 🔎 To address these concerns, prioritising #ethics and societal values in the design, development, and deployment of new technologies is essential. The TechEthos project leveraged multi-stakeholder engagement and provided guidance on achieving this balance. 📌 For more details, read the full CORDIS Results Pack: https://lnkd.in/dcJXh3zg 👉 and discover the projects’ resources: https://lnkd.in/eyXrWP4D

🚀Delve into the latest episode of our video series as we navigate the complex terrain of the digital realm. Our colleagues Alexei Grinbaum (Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives) and Andrea Porcari (Airi - Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca Industriale) shed light on transparency in XR and generative AI, unraveling ethical design dilemmas and legal intricacies. Discover the following key considerations: 1️⃣ Transparency in virtual realities - from user awareness behind avatars to the challenge of distinguishing AI-generated content from the authentic; 2️⃣ Over-policing outputs and the delicate balance between helpfulness and harmlessness in generative AI, exemplified by instances of refusal to provide technical information due to perceived moral dilemmas.
