Challenging installation of a HDPE outfall pipeline in the UK’s Severn. The project involved the installation of a new 1.4km long by 560mm internal diameter PE100 outfall pipeline, which replaces a 1960s concrete-coated steel pipe near Nash in Newport, South Wales The area is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The upgrade not only aims to enhance the operational longevity of the pipeline but has also been executed with strict adherence to environmental protection measures, reflecting the project’s considerable regulatory and ecological challenges.
