On the 13th of September 2024, the Academiezaal in Sint-Truiden was the scene of a unique recording: A stunning giant of a work, with an enormous range of colours and textures, called "Shadows", composed by Obe Vermeulen, performed by Vilmos Csikos, Sarah Bayens and Aveline Gram. The piece was commissioned by the not for profit organisation, YBT to celebrate the 20th anniversary of it's platinum sponsor, The Bayard Partnership. We want to sincerely thank the composer, the musicians and the entire team for making this possible. 🎵 A night to remember: Celebrating 20 years with the Young Belgian Talents On September 14th, the stunning Academiezaal in Sint-Truiden resonated with extraordinary music as we celebrated Bayard's 20th anniversary in grand style. For the first time ever, all Young Belgian Talent vzw competition winners came together in a truly unforgettable concert: Aveline Gram (piano, 2010) Aurore Dassesse (cello, 2012) Vilmos Csikos (violin, 2015) Sarah Bayens (violin, 2018) Liesl Vanoverberghe (flute, 2022) The highlight of the evening? The avant-première of the original piece for double violin, especially composed for this concert by the talented Belgian composer Obe Vermeulen, masterfully performed by Vilmos and Sarah. This magical night was a testament to the power of long-term investment in young talent. Since 2010, our partnership with YBT has been nurturing these gifted musicians, helping them achieve their dreams and enriching our cultural landscape.
