We extend our deepest condolences to Juan's family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will continue to inspire us as we carry forward the work he was so passionate about.

Today, our President Lorenzo Mattioli and Director General Miguel Caramello-Alvarez from EFCI - European Cleaning and Facility Services Industry together with CoESS - Confederation of European Security Services and FoodServiceEurope met with Commissioner Schmit and his cabinet to discuss critical issues in public procurement. We followed with great interest the recent debate on the role of social award criteria in public procurement at the January Plenary meeting of the European Parliament. It was encouraging to hear Commissioner Schmit’s acknowledgment that more contracts could be awarded based on criteria beyond the lowest price. Importantly, the Commission is committed to evaluating whether further legislative actions are necessary. Our associations look forward to engaging with the incoming Commission!

Europeans in 27 Member States have voted, leading to a significant shift in the EU policy arena. The EPP emerged victorious with 186 MEPs, while right and far-right groups also saw gains. S&D remained stable, and Renew Europe saw a decline. EFCI members are ready to work with the newly elected MEPs to continue boosting the economic and social contribution of the cleaning industry. Our sector is crucial for job creation and social integration, employing a diverse workforce and supporting various industries. EFCI President Lorenzo Mattioli states, “Implementing the EFCI Manifesto is more important than ever. Our industry plays a significant role in economic development and social integration.” As the EU negotiates key positions, we urge policymakers to support the cleaning industry with favorable regulations and initiatives. Stay tuned for more updates as we advocate for our industry’s vital role in Europe’s future. https://lnkd.in/ed4X_tsN #EuropeanElections #EFCIManifesto #EconomicDevelopment #SocialIntegration

After a year and a half of dedicated service, Matteo Matarazzo will be leaving EFCI. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Matteo for his invaluable contributions during this period. Since the beginning of President Lorenzo Mattioli’s mandate, EFCI’s vision has solidified, leading us to significant milestones, from implementing daytime cleaning initiatives to other impactful initiatives, such as public procurement joint events and the presentation of EFCI’s manifesto before the european election 2024. 🚀 We’re thrilled to introduce Miguel Caramello-Alvarez, who has assumed the role of EFCI’s new Director General. Miguel brings a wealth of expertise to our organization. Originary from Argentina, with an educational background also in Italy, he is a seasoned regulatory and competition lawyer with a strong focus on EU and international rail transport law, competition law, public procurement, and more. Last week, during our General Assembly, our members had the pleasure of meeting Miguel, and we’re confident that his leadership will propel EFCI to greater heights at the EU level.
