According to the latest thematic focus of the European Institute for Gender Equality Gender Equality Index 2024, gender-based violence remains prevalent, severe and under-reported across the EU 👇 “Violence against women is rooted in control, dominance and inequality. Women achieved gender parity on the big screen for the first time last year in the US 🎬 Out of the 100 top-grossing films of last year, women led 42% of the films, the same percentage as their male counterparts. An ongoing study by the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative also found that 54% of films last year were led or co-led by women, up from 30% the previous year.
