On November 6th, our team had the opportunity to contribute to the Smart City Marketplace Booth Session, 1-to-1 Advisory Services. Moderated by Silvia Isi Assalin from the Covenant of Mayors - Europe, this session highlighted how tailored support is enabling cities to overcome urban challenges and accelerate sustainable development. Key Insights from the Session: 💡 Ervis Sulejmani from Th!nk E presented the 1-to-1 advisory services, a free-of-charge initiative from Smart Cities Marketplace providing tailored guidance to cities on areas such as governance, legal frameworks, technical assistance, and communication strategies. This rapid-response support empowers cities to scale solutions that drive real impact. 🚏 Hanna Lewandowska from the City of Bydgoszcz shared inspiring progress on Poland’s hydrogen strategy. She detailed the city’s efforts to integrate hydrogen for public transport and the invaluable assistance from the Smart Cities Marketplace in evaluating the feasibility of using electricity from planned photovoltaic farms for hydrogen production, covering everything from costs to funding options. Through collaborations like this, we’re helping cities navigate the complexities of climate resilience, energy efficiency, and social inclusion, paving the way for smarter, more sustainable communities! 🌍 Th!nk E at Smart City Expo World Congress! 🌍 Yesterday, our Founder, Leen Peeters, contributed her expertise on a panel in the Power of Communities: Co-Creating Pathways to Climate Neutrality session at the Green Agora. 💡 During the discussion, Leen highlighted Th!nk E's Citizen-led renovation project, where communities are empowered to take charge of their renovation journeys at their own pace. This project showcases six pilot initiatives and has engaged 15 learners and 38 followers, with incredible results from Phase I, including successes with Energent and Triple SEC. 🌇 The Power of Communities: Co-Creating Pathways to Climate Neutrality session will feature engaging presentations focused on developing effective engagement strategies for stakeholders in climate-neutral and positive energy districts. In a session moderated by Veronika Cerna, we will learn about the experiences with engaging various stakeholders in the development of climate neutral solutions in cities.  Baptiste Mougeot, from LYON CONFLUENCE, will provide an overview of #ScalableCities and highlight how Lyon engages with its stakeholders. Jörgen Lööf, will discuss how in Stockholm energy communities drive the necessary change and help engage citizens in other aspects of sustainable living. While Anh Minh Vu from the city of Dresden, will share insights on the Climate-Neutral Lab approaches from @NEUTRALPATH. Also on the panel, Dirk Ahlers from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) will present how the @Re-Value project focuses on climate neutrality and collaborative urban planning and Leen Peeters, Founder of Th!nk E, will discuss how Citizen-led renovation support services can help build a more sustainable city. 🌍 On October 8-9, we had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring event in Lisbon, bringing together the Lighthouses and Followers Board from Phase I and the Learners from Phase II of Citizen-led renovation. Supported by our partners, this event provided an ideal opportunity for collaboration and knowledge exchange. We gained valuable insights from Phase I and introduced our Phase II Learners to the next steps of their journey. 🤝 Through interactive workshops, presentations, and discussions, participants explored key topics such as funding opportunities, building trust in energy renovation, and assessing the impact of citizen-led renovations. It was truly inspiring to see our community come together, share lessons, and shape the future of citizen-led energy initiatives. 🔎 Th!nk E is honoured to lead the Citizen-led renovation project, an EU-funded service that supports communities in taking control of their energy renovation projects.
