Transnational Giving Europe

On Saturday 14 December, an exceptional cyclone devastated the archipelago of Mayotte (France), leaving hundreds dead and injured, causing enormous damage, and totally devastating the precarious housing, which affects more than a third of the population. Faced with the distress of those hit hard, TGE's partner, Fondation de France (FDF), is appealing for national and international solidarity for Mayotte. On the strength of its experience in the French West Indies in 2017 (cyclones Irma, José and Maria) and with the support of its local partners in the Indian Ocean region, FDF are mobilizing to help the affected populations by rapidly deploying essential actions (shelter, psychological support, etc.). Samedi 14 décembre, un cyclone exceptionnel a dévasté l’archipel de #Mayotte, faisant des centaines de morts et de blessés, des dégâts énormes et ravageant totalement l’habitat précaire qui concerne plus d’un tiers de la population.   Face à la détresse des populations durement frappées, la Fondation de France lance un #AppelàLaSolidarité nationale pour Mayotte.   Forte de son expérience dans les Antilles en 2017 (cyclones Irma, José et Maria) et en s’appuyant sur ses partenaires locaux dans la région de l’Océan Indien, la Fondation de France déploie rapidement des actions de première nécessité pour venir en aide aux victimes (mise à l’abri, soutien psychologique, …). La Fondation de France aidera les personnes sinistrées les plus vulnérables.
